Show off your speed

So just did some calculating. It's going to take me 14 solid hours of downloading to download Dragon Age Origins. This is assuming my internet speed holds to what it should be. My dad essentially refuses to up the speed even if I'm willing to pay for the price hike. A whopping 5 bucks more a month for double the speed. I hate ATT. Their cell phone prices are ridiculous as well.

its the same with sky, their customer service is terrible
i literally have to kick the router to reboot it and speeds are incredibly slow

i phoned up the company and asked why the speeds were so slow and the guy said there was nothing wrong and to p*** off

im moving to virgin media to see if they have better internet service than sky do

Be prepared for slowed down internet at around 7pm-3am,also good luck with the Super hub...and customer support (or lack off).

It seems all of our ISPs in the UK are as bad as each other these though.

I wish there was more choice,Its either stick with Virgin who have Cable and can do 120mb/s....Or go with a BT provider on ASDL and require a phone line. :/

Paying 41euro/month for 60mb\s download and 5mb\s upload. Looks like providers in us are pretty expensive, bit jealous about the upload speed they have in US.
Wired and wireless, wireless is a bit slower though. Got my pc wired for best speed.

It's funny, where my mom lives they don't have cable, so you can only get DSL. The speeds are around 2-4Mbps download and about 0.5-1Mbps upload. Or, you can get Verizon wireless LTE on your smartphone and tether at 15-20Mbps down and 10-15Mbps up, lol.

And only slightly worse latencies, too. DSL is now redundant.

Lol, yeah I remember when we had 3/1 and we went to 12/1.5 and it only costed like $5 more because of the discount. I'm so jelly of the people getting google fiber :( (If one of you live in said city don't you dare post a speedtest here!!!!!! lol)
 
Like...10. I'm supposed to be getting 30 but I'm not sure why I'm not. Virgin media were supposed to upgrade it months ago! But they said they couldn't... :S

any isp can be better than sky
 
I'm pretty sure the 4G LTE on my phone is 4 times faster than my home internet.


Edit: Yup it is. 9.63 down and 2.39 up on my phone...

2.6 down and 1 up on wifi.
