Windows 7 or Windows Vista?

I am looking forward to build a new computer system. I am confused which operating sytem to install, Windows 7 or Windows Vista?

What are differences between these 2 OS's?

Which one would you prefer for basic home use?

I would go with 7 only because it was made to basically correct the issues with Vista. I like to call Vista "Windows Millenium part 2"
 
Kind of hard to fix something that isn't broken anymore.

Vista had a lot of issues when it first came out, 3 years ago...

People should be "over this" by now.
 
This one is an easy one: Obviously go with Windows 7, it's the latest system and it should fix most issues that came with Vista.

Windows 7 RC, then windows 7 once it is released. Also, make sure to go 64 bit if your running 4gb of ram or more.
 
just saying windows 7 has issues in its own lol and there is absolutely nothing wrong with vista its the best os ive used i have 2 comps on xp 1 on vista and 1 on 7 im switching the 7 back to vista next week
 
i never had any problems with vista, and unlike alot of people I didn't pretend to have problems with it so I could be cool amongst my 13 year old friends. Windows Vista was a great OS imo and windows 7 only improves upon it!
 
Windows 7, you get to use the RC for free until next year and then you can go buy the retail. I wouldn't go with Vista for the sole reason that 7 is an improvement upon Vista and there is no reason to pay for it and then upgrade to 7 when you can use 7 RC now and just pay for it later.
 
Go with 7...Vista still to this day is crap imo.

and yes people will disagree with me but like i said its my own opinion.

So, where can I get the RC? I'd love to try it.
 
Yeah most benchmarks I have seen on 7 its roughly 50% faster to Vista.

I myself LOVE Vista and have yet to try Windows 7 but I must admit it looks like a nice step up.
I will be waiting till the user reviews are in after release to make sure they didn't screw anything up.
