I'm one of those "I don't, but I want to" people.
The "I don't" is due to a couple of reasons:
1. I just built my first PC, and since I've had Dell's before that, I couldn't OC my CPU.
2. Since I've never OC'd my CPU (only my vid card), I'm inexperienced and fear damaging my processor.
3. I have that feeling you get one something is brand new and you take REALLY good care of it. I don't want to harm my new PC in any way.
Things I would like to know before OC'in:
1. What are signs of instability - how do I know when I've pushed it too far? (Before it's too late).
2. What long term effects will OC'in have on my CPU and system?
3. Will my
Rosewill RCX-Z300 be able to handle OC'in and if so, to what extent?
4. At what temp should my CPU be when idling? under load? (About 45c/60c?)
Until I feel confident, it is not worth the risk. I realize the immense potential and I know I must start with small OC's. I doubt I'll push my E4500 past 2.4ghz for now, despite its capabilities to pass 3.0ghz...
