Hello.
I use Speed fan, and i somehow think my temparature is high.
The CPU is in the 40s,
The ambient is 30s,
The HD0 is im the 30s,

I am also thinking of adding a new fan. If i take one fomr my old PC, will it be ok?

Chris

Those temperatures seem fine for that PC. If you do add an extra fan it will help keep things a little cooler.

ok, but, an old fan, will that be ok??? like from an 7 year old PC?
Should i take a picture of the fan and show it to you gi=uys?

Chris

idk- that seems kinda hot for the CPU, but then mine is prob a special case (no pun intended) look below for specs, my CPU runs at 31 or so

If you're worried about the fan not working then go buy a new one. Just make sure you have a place to put, a place to connect it, and make sure it's the right size.

Her eis a picture of the old fan that i want to put in the new computer.
do you think i can do that???

It could do with a damned good clean, but apart from that if it spins when it's powered, then it should be ok. In my view, though, it's not worth the hassle of hooking it up, your temperatures are lower than mine (admitted I've overclocked but still). But if you want to go ahead, go for it. :)

Well see, i have it, i might as well plug it. right?
now, where should i put it? i was wonderring toward the modem, but i will soon get a videocard. Maybe on the hard drive? or maybe the DVD drive (or is that foolish) ??? where should i put it?

By the way, the fan is way cleaner then wehn i tok it out, It was awful how much dust it had!!! lol

The key is not disrupting the airflow of the fans currently in your system. If you have a place for the fan actually on the frame of the case, that's not being used, then use that. You don't really want loose fans whizzing about in there, if it gets knocked off it could do some damage.

but i dont know if i can plug it...i try to look for a plug for the fan, and it didnt seem to have some....

You may need a 2pin-3pin adapter for that fan, it looks to be a 2-pin one and I'm not sure whether that will go. You're looking for something like this

If those are all used, you'll need an adapter to convert it to the standard molex connection (same as the hard drives).

ok..i will look at it later....btw its a 2 pin. right now i have to go soon, so i dont have time. Talk to you later!
