as i recall, the origanol Ipod was like 20 gigs or something in that range, at any rate, going for 400 bukcs....thats 100 bucks for 5 gigs...not bad i'd say..

yes i was also an ipod hater whent hey came out, but as soon as i realized how much music they could store for accually not that bad of a price, i accually wanna get one now. the only thing i dont like about ipods is the itunes.....i have hated that program my whole life :( and i hate it now
 
Alot of people do though, This kid I know is pathetic, he was so pissed at his parents that he only got the Shuffle and not the video, and he wanted one so bad so he could fit in, and he's trying to make people think he got iton purpose ebcause the video is "gay" but the mini is cooler. Pathetic.

Yes I hated Itunes also but not for any real particular reason. I loved Winamp and liked Media player and thought that Itunes was pointless basically. Thing is since I got my Ipod Mini I've used ITunes and now think that it is great. Works well and has many useful options. However as I mentioned if you want an IPod and hate ITunes you can use Winamp with the IPod.
 
yea same thing happened here. Except my ipod didnt come out of it. I didnt install any new stuff. It worked fine for a half a day, then it stopped recognizing on my computer. It didnt eve know whwen it was plugged into the charger. Lame. I like PSP's better

that's because video on a compact mp3 player is gay. The shuffle is made for things such as running and working out. Since when do you need to be watching video or even see the name of the song while you're doing that? The shuffle isn't supposed to hold all your music, it's more like a personal radio station. The video screen only sucks battery life, makes the unit more prone to breaking and scratching and makes it heavier.

i agree. i got my g/f the shuffle for x-mas and had to d/l i tunes. i was like "ok, here is another useless peice of software that will just take up my precious harddrive space" but i actually started using it more than winamp.:)

:eek: you dont like iTunes and you like the iPod?? most people like iTunes and dont like the iPod, i think that creative do a much better range of mp3 players. they might not look quite as good but theyre a lot cheaper! iTunes is the best media player you can get to have all of your music in the library, with Winamp you cant, and windows media player has a really badly designed library (in my opinion)!

it's actually MS and APPLE, but MAC. The mac is just their computers, not the name of the company :rolleyes:

Actually I do see what you mean. After reading what I put it sounds as if I'm labeling all iPod users as "wanna be" trend-ers (right word?:D). At least, some people that I do see fling their iPods around and singing their songs out loud to try to get attention. I appoligize for my asinine remark. Actaully, I recieved the newer iPod (video/movie) for christmas and I didn't want it to crap out like my nano, so I took it back and bought my friend's mini for 20 bucks which was an awesome deal for me. It just seems like the mini's are a lot more sturdier and can handle more abuse than the newer models... but I guess thats my opinion...

It's cool, Speaking of the I-Pod Nanno and what abuse it can take I remember an article I read awhile ago http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/nano.ars You can skip through to the stress testing section of the article. Not sure how true it is but it was a fun read. They literally toss the poor thing around and run it over with a car.

Don't like iPod's, or iTunes, or Apple. Overpriced, over-stated, over-praised...

I can think of 2 or 3 players I'd rather own, that cost less and offer more. Hell I was happy with my mini-disc player lmao...but now I'm psyched about iAudio devices.

Of course it is all opinion and I wont argue about the Ipod being overpriced because it is. I found myself willing to spend that though after using one for a day. I actually returned a 30 GB Creative Zen Xtra http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&product=9288 to get the 4gb Ipod. The link leading to the "Dog Bites iAudio" is very cool :). Of course we can all find similar links to our favorite products http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/nano.ars/3

In the end it all comes to personal preference and I understand why people say they are overpriced and that is because they are. I found myself spending it though and I love the I-Pod Mini to death. I love the wheel (whatever they are calling it) and I love it's looks. I don't flash it around and it usually stays in my pocket. I do have the lanyard to hang around my neck while I ride my bike. Also If I wanted something really small then I own this http://www.pricegrabber.ca/search_getprod.php?masterid=539286&search=panasonic+sv+sd80 already with a lanyard to hang around my neck with a 1gb flash SD-Card. I never use it anymore though as I own my Ipod.

i used to have a iPod Mini Silver 4GB
it worked GREAT, then i upgraded to the iPod Video
both worked FANTASTIC for me... :)
 
My 2GB Nano scratches so easlily and its in a case! The screen is awful looking, cause like the 2nd day I had it, it was in my pocket with my cell phone (bad combo). Now theres a big gash across the click wheel and the center button...ughghghgh! All I care about is that it plays music though.
 
I am a proud owner of an Apple Mini. I've had it for over a year and it works flawlessly. No problems whatsoever. My sister has a mini and it works great too. But my brother bought a Nano and had some trouble with Itunes. But it was easily fixed by restarting the ipod. So Apple has done a great job, I would never give up on my Ipod. Plus Itunes and podcasts, It so great. Sure you can buy the other mp3 players, but they just aren't the same.
-The one Negative. Apple has the worst customer service policy in the world. If your Ipod is over 90 days old, they will not talk to you unless you argue etc. They want you to pay money to talk to them after you spend hundreds of dollars. That just doesn't flow. You just argue and eventually they will talk to you.

1. the one who takes care of this delicate technology.
2. the one who des big bang pow with it.

when i was in the ipod forum, these two people could be easily seen.
the 2. guy was always mad at ipods, calling it crap. the 1. person was in love with ipods, and was simply happy about it!

So, which guy are you? 1. or 2. ?
 
someone who dosnt take good care of it. I saw lots of those people.....
btw, i means '2. the one who doesbig bang pow with it' sorry for the typo, my bad. But i do agree, they sometime get you frustrated!!!
