Infuriating keyboard and mouse problems!

I have a Logitech S510 wireless keyboard and mouse. Overall, these have performed markedly well, but I've encountered one key(no pun intended) issue with each unit that is driving me INSANE.

Keyboard Issue: When I make a slew of mistakes, and have to remove an entire series of keystrokes, I'd like to be able to hold down [backspace] to quickly delete a row of text. In this case, I find that I have to press [backspace] repeatedly. Holding the key down does nothing.

Mouse issue: I do a good amount of scroll-wheeling for, well, scrolling up and down. At least, I used to until it began to drive me mad. You see, this particular scroll wheel has a new-fangled function which allows the user to also pan left or right by pushing on the appropriate side of the wheel - so trying to use the scroll wheel for its basic function causes me to inadvertently pan, which makes the PC beep uncontrollably.

Is there a setting which will allow me to "turn on" my backspace key? And to turn OFF the pan feature on my scroll wheel?

Thanks in advance.

If you have the latest set-point (drivers) for your logitech keyboard and mouse, you should be able to go to the bindings bit of it, and bind the pan features to "nothing" effectively "turning them off".

As for the keyboard, I dont have much experience. Perhaps there is another setting in the driver software. You might also look in the windows control-panel>keyboard options for what you are looking for.

You might also try, if your setup uses both USB and ps/2 and youve been using ps/2, try the USB slot instead. It should give you greater control combined with the driver software.

^^ Wow I guess people dont like me here anymore! Huh? It was just kinda dumb b/c I think the batteries and range is the first thing he would check unless he was a complete Noob.

I have the 510 and have not encountered either problem, first my repeat key is set to fast and the mouse key I set to scroll as many lines at a time that I need, even whole page as other mice work. U could always press down on mouse and lock the scroll option for faster scrolling.

I had a similar experience with a Logitech mouse that had a pan function. From what I have absorbed - mice that allow for multilateral function tend to malfunction easily. Had to get ride of mine and was not quick to buy another of that variety.
