crysis

yeah they will soon start using all aspects of DX10 and thats when system upgrades will be needed.. but i think its great that u can play this game on a dx9 for people who dont have a few hundred dollars for upgrading

Yeah, I think running Crysis in DX9 will be great, it hopefully, won't be too hard, not like DX10 mode, so my 7950GT should be Ok, I'm hoping anyway!

What I want to know is what settings and res they are playing at.

I'm going to be running it at 1920 x 1200 at full settings in dx10.
I'm a tad bit doubtful that I'm going to get good frames.

Well, from the videos it looks to be good settings, although you can't really tell what the res was. Making a recording of game reduces the FPS a lot too, So I can't imagine them being that bad. But think about it this way... If they are playing the videos on today's hardware, and it looks that good, if they make it better... More demanding, then just tone it down to look as good as it did when they made the videos.

Does that make sense to anybody?

im pretty sure everyone will be able to get the same if not better settings than they think.. it wouldnt be in cryteks bes intrest to make it almost unplayable.. on DX9 u might have to have a lower res or lower settings and on dx 10 ull be in the mid to high.. well thats what i have read anyway:)

I'm going to buy crysis. It's going to be like farcry was when it came out...amazing. Crysis will have a better story, will have better gameplay, and obviously rediculously better graphics.

It wouldn't be in Cryteks best interest to make it almost unplayable,

Actually Crytek is one of the only developers that are pushing hardware / software as far as it will go. I'm tired of manufactures jipping the customers that are willing to throw down the money for superior quality.

Props to Crytek!

I get ya Korn, but we still don't know what those settings are. Also in one interview, Crytek stated that no current hardware could max Crysis.

Only time will tell,
Bob

They are saying it will come out in the States in September this year, I really don't see why it can't be released at the same time as the states, I mean they don't need to change any game files, or language files.
I have seen some gameplay videos and its AWESOME, the AI is so REALISTIC I thought I was watching a movie. The graphics is just breathtaking. I have never lined up outside the shops for anything before, but for Crysis, I will make an exception.

sorry if this has been asked but i don't feel like reading through the posts.
Do any of you really think that Crysis will need a quad-core to run at highest settings? Yeah they said it in the review that it would be optimizing quad-cores but really... well i guess i'll wait and see.

im getting the same CPU as u have and im pretty sure that will be sufficient to run it.. aslong as u have a DX10 GPU to go with it and 2gb of ram.. alot of people think u need to have some type of super computer from a distant galaxy to be able to play this game but im pretty sure after reading alot of interviews and reviews that a good DX10 equiped computer will be able to run it maxed.. however im not 100%

this will be a good game.
hey snipe what about 2 gigs of ram core 2 dou processor e6600 8800gtx gpu hows that will that play it well.
time will tell i guess.

haha i hope so!! thats exactly what im getting:P all on a 22" screen:D the CEO of crytek said in an interview i saw that even DX9 gpu's can play this game at a high setting.. so a dx10 should by rights own it.. but if worst comes to worst u might have to lower the settings and it will still look amazing.. but like i said i dont think dx10 users will have any problem at all especially on a GTX or Ultra..

no im building a computer rite now. i kind of new at this so ill stick to semi-basic things. i wont sli till later i know i do have a good sli board for the future. i just thought about this
imagine in about 10 years we'll be like wtf this 8800gtx gpu sucks so badly. we will have things that cant be explained
woo just thought about that ;0 =] :)
