You want DX10 games? Well, here they are!

That Tweak3d link is full of bull****. Halo 2 is also dx9 compatible and Tweak3d sais its only dx10.

(Isnt any game thats dx10, dx9 compatible?)

Out of all those games, Alan Wake looks the best by far, but im most anticipating Crysis and UT 2007. I need an 8800 :(

No, DX 10 programs are not backwards compatible, and yes, halo is probably DX 10, because it will only run on Vista, the bungie site even says so.

I cant agree with that, since that would be the stupidest thing the game developers could do. did you know for example that the first 4 days a game is released, will show if a game is a succes or not, keeping that in mind, how many people would buy a DX10 grafic's card (with most likely a new pc) just to play a few new released games?
I think if they wernt backwards compartible, the games just wont sell good enough for the developers to invest time/money in it. hence, i think DX10 games will run on dx9.0c cards, but i gues they will be emulated or so.
either way, untill DX10 is the standard, games will run on the older cards too, and DX10 is far from beeing the standard yet.

DX10 is a set of APIs and if they develope an application that require those APIs to run then no, it will not be backwards compatible. On top of that MS already said no DX10 for XP, which means they could force you to upgrade for that reason and make tons of money.

I agree it is asinine that this may happen but we will not know until they come out.

Just because halo2 is for vista, doesnt mean it is only dx10. I could have sworn I read that it was both dx9 and dx10 compatible. That was a little while ago on the bungie.net FAQ. Hopefully they didnt change it, and make it only dx10. Sucks, I just got a new dx9 card. Sadly, microsoft would be ***holes and do something like make it only dx10.

We'll wait and see.

that would be stupid, no backwards combatability, why would they do that??? Anyway, I think those graphics are amazing omgomgomg I cant wait until the 8 series drops to something affordable like 300$
