WTB: Computer parts

I'll take a graphics card off your hands max $35, maybe $40 for a good one within the last 2 years. Though, probobly only $35. Max $55 for mobo, max $20 for 4 gb RAM, $35 for case, $25 for psu name brand above 380 watts, $25 for hdd 250 GB sata, $75 for cpu.

Do you have a processor or are you going to worry about that after you find out what the MB will support?

The problem as I see it is that you want to build a gaming computer for $200 - $300.
That isn't going to happen.
No one is going to sell you decent parts that cheap.

Give us an exact price you have to spend and then people can tell you what you can do with that kind of money.

You keep starting threads about this that lead to nowhere because you can't make a gaming comp that cheap unless you have parts laying around.

Edit: Do you have any parts lying around?
Like an old comp you can use for a case with possibly a power supply.
I saw on Craigslist a guy selling a nice looking case with lots of fans, a MB w/ cpu for $80.
It's not really great but it's a start if you can muster up a cpu cheap and I saw the other day what I think is a q6600 for $75. All this is in your neck of the woods.

Your area is terrible for desktop parts but if someone wants a laptop their are tons of them.

If you have a complete parts list why are you asking for parts without specifying what you want?
Those items I posted from your area fit the price and description of your wanted to buy thread.
$80 gets you a case, mb and a cpu.

If your talking about the one that comes with that case, you are going to need a better cooling solution to get that far. That intel stock that is on there won't handle a overclock at all.

I figure that it's a starting point.
The case looks fairly nice.
He will still need some ram, ps, optical drive etc.
You are right about the heatsink/fan for overclocking.
But I figure if he looks around in a little while he will find a deal on a better cpu.

But it is a starting point for him to learn on.
When your tight on money the older stuff still has some value.

Overclocking the cpu to 2.2 GHZ.
I don't think that CPU is really worth overclocking to be honest, if you're just purely gaming then you're probably not going to see a difference between 1.8GHz and 2.2GHz.

Byteninja, here's a graphics card for you 768MB GeForce 8800 GTX, a pretty badass card in its day, now not quite so badass but for $32 this is a good deal. Here is another card that would be good, a 512MB GeForce 9600 GSO. I think for your budget you're going to be looking at the GeForce 8 and 9 series cards. I'd recommend an 8800 with at least 384MB RAM if you want an 8 series card, or a 9600 or a 9800 with at least 384MB RAM if you want a 9 series card. Wouldn't recommend an 8600 by the way.

Funny thing, I was gonna get a 9600 GSO! Thanks though. I can get a 512 MB one brand new by XFX for $40, my budget had quite a bit of money left after buying the combo (yes I got it, it's a huge case, don't know how it will fit on my desk) and I decided I'm buying a monitor!

if you are gaming the 8800 GTX will be way better. Worth $5 to be honest. Look at it like this, the 8800 has faster memory and a higher BUS rate, and more than likely more cores.

I may be wrong but I'm not sure the MB will take a PCIe 2.
I've got my eye out on some CPU's and if they look like they will be cheap I'll post it.

OK so you need a graphics card (8800 GTX ;) ), power supply, optical drive, RAM and a hard drive?

Don't need mobo, or cpu, or case anymore, might get $5 today.
I wasn't saying you did.
But now you need to look at the specs of the MB.
It is PCI-E x16. I doubt a PCI-E 2.0 card will run on it, but I may be wrong as I don't pay attention to vid cards.
I have been watching the sale on a E7600 3.0ghz cpu. If it looks like it can be had for about $10 I will let you know.
