normally this type of thing relies on body language and eye contact

i'm backing EL DJ. you have no way of knowing if he is telling the truth or not, so give him the benefit of the doubt and stop the personal attacks
 
I've done that a lot lately whenever I go to walmart, but I look at individual parts. They sell HDD's and RAM for outragiously high prices; the same kind of HDD I bought on new egg for $45 or $50 costs $100, and a single stick of 1gig RAM (600mhz) costs WAY more than my two sticks of 2gig RAM (800mhz), at $60.
 
Can't say I've ever done it, but I like looking at what is for sale and looking at the prices. If a sales associate comes over and asks if I have questions I usually say "Nope. Just looking."

I'd never buy a pre-built computer ever again.

There is always packet loss though, no matter what switch and what cable you use. Cat5 is spec'd to go out to 100 meters though with out the need of a repeater, that doesn't mean you won't lose packets.

You guys should work help desk. Seriously, work help desk for 1 week and you will find out that every day you have to reset passwords because people forget them, you will have to reset email accounts because people forget them, you will have to do the most simple and mundane task over remote desktop, and every time you move their mouse they are amazed that you can do that....

The average person doesn't know a lot about computers, it is not sad it is just how it is. I bet there are plenty of subjects you guys don't know a thing about.

I know there is a TON that I don't know about. Until a few months ago I didn't know how to convert numbers and text into hex, binary and all those other fancy things.

But hardware is pretty easy to put a price on when you're around it enough.

Are you guys freaking kidding me? Honestly if you guys think I was being serious, you need to calm the **** down. It's called a joke. You know, hahaha, lol, lulz, rofl, lmao, roflmao, roflcopter, etc. Hahah, im sorry it just surprises me how you guys couldn't tell that I was joking. I even put a litte ":P" in there to remove all doubt, but I guess that wasn't enough, lmao.

You kept going after EL DJ responded to your first "that didn't happen post", it seemed like you were trying to be serious (note that you didn't use smiley's on the first posts) then when it really builds up and more than one people get against you, then you back off, say you were only kidding and make all who thought you were right look like effin' morons.

Now, that goes to everybody. Don't take it personally, just my opinion...

It's just like me saying:
