which build is better?

im buying this for my little brother who plays a game called maplestory? its not very demanding but he said he wants to be able to run 6 clients at once. is that possible (anyone who plays maplestory)?

never played it so no idea

okay new plan im going to build a computer.

Can someone help me come up with a build with a budget around 700 - 900. A really good gaming computer.

What all do you want?
Just the tower?
And do you want an OS and ODD and a Monitor in that budget or not?

Nop.

tower
psu
cpu
gfx card
ram (around 8 gigs, if over limit 4 is enough)
mobo
hhd (could be like 500 gig)
optical drive (as cheap as possible, as long as it works)

Thanks, really appreciate the help

Total is $751.93

Feel free to change to your liking. A case is not included above so you can pick that out yourself and this doesn't include an OS since you said above you didn't need one.

If you have extra cash I would suggest getting an SSD to put your OS on or get a better GPU. Or both if you can afford it. You might also want add a CPU cooler. Just make sure it fits your socket type.

Ahhh thank you guys, so i took a look at what you guys recommended and im loving it; however i still have some questions about the combo pack.

So if i got both combo packs everything would be compatible right?

And is there a huge difference between the XFX HD-687A-ZNFC and XFX HD-687A-ZDFC?

Also,
Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066

would fit everything right?

Ill also get the Optical drive and HDD from the posts above

Once again, thanks

That case would be fine and from what I can tell the Graphics cards are virtually the same.
Yep. Everything looks compatible unless I'm missing something.

Yes it should do just fine. If you plan on doing Crossfire/SLI in the future then you'll probably want a 750w but if not then that one is just fine.

A sound card isn't really necessary. I have a Logitech 5.1 speaker system that is running out of integrated sound on a 7 year old Dell Office machine and it still sounds pretty darn good.

I would suggest build the computer without one and use integrated sound. If it's for some reason not up to par to your likings then add sound later. But really, I don't think it's necessary.

Alright i think im set. gonna purchase everything listed above.

Once i build everything ill have a working computer :)

all the parts will be included right (i.e. nails)

Yes everything should be included. You'll be using screws not nails.
Nails + Hammer + Computer = Bad Idea *Shudder*

You'll get screws with your PSU, Mobo, and Case.

And Crossfire/SLI is basically using 2 video cards at once. With your current budget that's pretty much out of the question. It has it's benefits but also has some bugs with certain games and unless you're doing some uber intensive gaming then it's not really necessary. One nice, powerful card will do just fine.

Make sure to keep yourself grounded when building it. Basically means don't have any static electricity built up in your body because if you have to much and you touch your CPU or something, ZAP! Bye bye $200. The way to do this is to frequently touch the metal on your computer case as your building. This will discharge static in your body.

Be sure to check out the sticky at the top of this section about building a computer.

Also I would get a couple more confirmations from other people on if this is ok and everything is compatable as well as put all your parts together with URLs in one post.

I'm pretty sure everything is all good but it doesn't hurt to get confirmation from a few other people.

Best of luck and have fun!

Ahhh thanks!!

i have one other question, I dont think im going to buy a SSD as the price is just too much for a faster boot speed. The HDD you provided is good enough w/o a SSD right?

Yeah. Just fine. I agree I don't think an SSD is worth it yet either. When the price goes down in a few years then I may grab one, but for now they're to expensive to justify saving a few seconds booting or opening a program.
