laptop fails to shut down

i have a problem with my lap.it takes time before it shuts down can anyone help?

I tried google chrome, it was zippy the first day and then seemed to bog down.

i agree to that i found the first versions of chrome were very fast but after a while it did slow down but i always have to have about 30 tabs open that may be why, but i switched back to firefox as i can have that many tabs opne without noiticable slowdown

i find it quite funny how much google are advertising chrome, i can only speak from an english point of view, but the've put it in the papers and on tv, even on billboards, never seen anyone advertise a browser so much before, but i suppose microsoft didnt need to and google is the only other company with an internet browser that is also loaded with cash

If I'm doing quick surfs, I use Chrome. If I'm doing prolonged Googling then I use Firefox. If I feel like a moron, I'll use IE8.

Yeah firefox is good because its fast,and has mass amounts of free plugins to make everything easy.

However.....these past few releases have been quite problematic,Keeps crashing!
