My lowest ever (with stock HSF, mind you) is 28c CPU and a 21C chipset. My highest for the CPU is 40, never gone above this. A lot of people say that thier temps are really high- guess im lucky.

Which do you want? CPU or Chipset? My CPU usally is right around 30*C. I don't remember my chipsets right off, but I know one of them is usally roasting. Perhaps I'll invest in a little heatsync for it...

my lowest CPU temp was 25 but that was back then when i had the Northwood
and now the lowest is 40 with the prescott
highest temp was 91 with my Celeron 1 ghz (yes fan was not working)
usually celeron is very low at temp

CPU was 19 at one point, and system was 22, thats the lowest Ive seen

Maybe even lower when I wasnt looking for temps who knows

Haha

My lowest CPU ever was 24 Celsius on a cold winter day with my window open. Generally around 28-30 though. My chipset, since it's passively "cooled" gets to 71-72 Celsius.

JAN :D

lol this isn't a good thread...
what if you live on the equator and temps outside never go below 30C lol
anyways, 30-40 is good..
40 and up would be considered high in my book.
i mean, right now its 76F in my room (about 24-25C) and my proc respectively went from about 32C idle to 36C idle... w/e it happens right lol

good point
temp here is 35 C outside
i'm lucky if my processor gets under 40 :D

what a dumb-ass thread.... im running a SKT 478 prescott.... i idle at 42-44, thats a good temp for 478 prescotts. This thread takes over generalizing to an extreme level. And to everyone who stated a certain temp as being "too high"... how can you possibly say that if you dont know the conditions....

Well Said. 40c+ is not bad. 50c is.

I had 36c folding on air with a 1,7ghz willamette celeron OC to 2040. In an 18c room, mind you. Now I get around 45-50C folding (I guess) on a 1,0ghz coppermine cellie in 26c ambient. 60+C folding on my 2,8ghz northwood p4 in the dell.

haha depends on the proc.
for a 180nm i'd call 50C not bad...
for a 65nm proc i'd call 50C idle a really bad temperature...
65nm idling at 50C means in full load it might fry. lol
plus, cpu sensors are never perfect.

Hey, guys im sorry if im overgeneralizing, im used to my CPU and not socket 478s. Im not trying to discriminate or anything.

My lowest ever was around 21c, but the mobo was around 31c (Fanless asus)

This is with a Intel 650 Prescott.
