What is the best overall internet browser?

Firefox is the talk of the town. It's my favorite too :)

Personally, I think any browser is good, as long as it isn't Internet Explorer!
 
I dunno, but I prefer FF now these days... I didn't like it at first, but it just takes some getting used to
 
firefox for me but there lates 1.5.0.2 is awful, full of bugs, they really need to take it off of their site, lol, i use most of them though for testing web pages etc...

this is an almost impossible thread to answer, its all about personal preference.

Internet Explorer has started to get slated, this is more due to firefox hype than anything else and it is in no way as bad as everyone makes out, with automatic updating it can be as safe as any. I currently use IE7 beta and its been outstanding.

Firefox has many plus points and has a huge fan base following now but they shot themselves in the foot by declaring so brazenly how "secure" they are. It was an open invitation to hackers to attack it in everyway possible. Updates have helped this but its still prime target for everyone.

Opera on paper is the greatest browser out there, faster, safer, secure and has had features for years that others are only just starting to implement (tabbed browsing etc) but it can have stability issues and isnt supported as well.

So its all down to what you feel is the better and easier to use yourself. each one is going to be mroe than secure and safe enough for most every user. All are going to meet the needs of people, but some epople prefer the features of one over the other
 
Opera 9 beta Is the fastest for sure and I have not had any stability issues. I have been using it for about a month now! I liked firefox but someone said try this, it loads the web pages alot faster so for just surfing the web its opera all the way but downloading big files opera seems slow so I use firefox and when all else fails I use IE!
 
guys... he didn't ask your personal favorite or else i would have said firefox, he asked what was the best which is different from your personal favorite! oviously everyone is convincedd that w/e they use is the best

Im not trying to be rude or anything encore cuz I respect everyone here and everything...

but didnt you just kinda contradict yourself?

Your saying hes asking for the best, and your saying that thats different than our favourites. But then you say that the best and our oppinions of our favourites are the same thing...so..:confused:

But yes you're right..the reason browsers are our favourites are because we believe them to be the best. So basically, asking both of those questions will find the same answer; because they mean the same to people.

Either way...theres lots of threads dealing with this, and several suggestions on this thread aswell.

it seems there are lots firefox fan here, i used firefox once ,and i am using opera now , i do not know about the secure very much ,or something like that ,but i really think it is fast by using opera
