What is the best laptop?

Centrino is basically a label for mobile computers with intel-qualified parts that are supposed to bring more performance and longer battery life. "Centrino" is no CPU, no component at all, it's just a marketing scheme. All centrino laptops use mobile intel CPUs, currently Mobile Core2 CPUs. Core2s are mobile CPUs just as well as they're desktop CPUs (apart form the quads, of course). @KillBill - that CPU in your macbook would be a Core2, just in case you didn't know.

No actually Duo is replaced in notebooks is properly centrio. So for example we call: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or E8550 or what ever. The notebook should be called Intel Core 2 Centiro T9300 or T5600 etc. Pentium M is pretty nice for sub notebooks.

Centrino doesnt exist. Its not a CPU. Like i said before, its a marketing term that changes about every year. Currently its Core 2 Duo + Intel Chipset + Intel Wifi

tsk tsk

For the love of Odin, turn on your spell check!

Core 2 technology is in desktops and laptops children, and there are some very minor differences. It was in fact based off of Intel's mobile processor.
