What is DIMM?

The motherboard i'm planning to get says 2x dimm memory? Does that mean i can only get 2x dimm memory? The ram doesn't state 2x or 4x but usually just 240 pin Dimm.

That means the motherboard has Two Slots to put RAM in.

RAM kits state whether they are 2 or 4 stick kits.
(ie: 2x2Gb = 2 sticks, 2Gb each stick)
