What do Geek Squad people do?

Pretty much over priced PC repair and such. You'd be better off starting your own business. I myself am 15, and I host a lot of LANs as well as some PC repair, and a few weeks ago, I established my own legal business through my state. So, if you want, start your own business. If you feel comfortable and confident.

Yup agreed. They charge something like $250 for a repair but its gauranteed and its double on the weekends. And a friend of mine actually said they are not the brightest of people. LOL

I am not saying I want to have it as my main job, and live off of it. I am just saying that maybe I could start a site, or do something and get some interest and make some money here and there...

If that's the case, it may be feasible, but again, very slow going. if you were to get on-board with software-related stuff instead of custom-building systems, that would be the better route to go, IMO. Then, once you've done a few jobs and if people start talking about upgrades or what else you can do, you can drop the 'Oh, by the way, I also...' card on them:) It will still be slow-going at first, but you'll probably see a bit more Return that way. That is, if you want to go the software-route...

I have a buddy that works for Geek Squad. It's basically just PC repair and diagnostics. Check if the customer is a kiddie perv or not. Run anti-virus stuff etc. If you are proficient with PC's and Mac's, definately a cushy job.

I wouldn't recommend Geek Squad to anybody. Most of them are hired for their ability to get along with people and not talent. When they can't fix it they are told to get the customer to bring it into the shop where the ''REAL'' tech's fix it.
