VNC through network

Hello,

Is there any way to share a screen (using remote control, vnc or vnc-like-thing) across a LAN? Without going through the internet? Both computers (XP and Vista) are connected to the wireless router, so is there any way to establish a fast screen control over the network (for free)?

Thanks

Yes, just set up the application on both systems and use the local IP of the machines to connect to it. You may have to set up an account for remote desktop (or VNC or the like) but yes it is easy.

You will still have to route (or forward) that port to that specific computer by IP address. You will have to do some router configurations to make it work from outside the internet.

Or

You can just use logmein.com which is all over port 443 (HTTPS) and is software client based.
