Video Camera for sports videos.

Hello everyone,
Me and a lot of my friends around here do a lot of dirt jumping and street riding with out bikes. We currently are using our digital cameras for videos (like 6MP cybershots and stuff), and we have been editing our stuff in ulead video studio.

Well i dont like it anymore, it produces crappy results that don't look professional.

Could you guys reccomend a new setup? I am hopefully going to be getting a macbook pro soon, so i could use imovie for video editing i guess.. Or is there somthing better i should consider?

I dont want to spend a lot of money if i dont have to..

I would like the videos to actually look nice on a tv though.

thanks,
jbrown

Well theres a few levels of video cameras.

You can get a nice looking picture for idk 500$? Havent looked recently so i dont have recomendations but Im sure you can find some online.

Thats consumer level. Higher Level and HD start at the very least 900 and pro is a few thousand.

Mac>Windows for video editing hands down.

iMovie will work for starting but I would recomend the upgrade to at least final cut express. Once you get the handle of it, you'll never be able to go back :D

Do you have an estimated price range on what you want to spend?

EDIT: Also youll want pretty much as much ram as you can afford. It helps render times (which are a pain in the but) a lot.

lol, my actual budget is like 0 :D

:P

but maby like 5 or 6 hundred for a camera

editing software, maby 100 or 150?

im not sure, could i get somthing decent for that?
