I have had road runner for years and I am getting close to 30mb down and 2mb up... Witch is GREAT for me. FiOS is offering 20/5mb. But its a lot more $$ then that I am paying now and people say that RR is better, I had seen ppl go from FiOS to road runner. And i have heard that after the contract with Verizon is up, the price goes way up.. whats the scoop any one know?

Definitely Fios if you can get it as RR is currently getting ready to screw its customers.

I use Greensboro area Time Warner (I am in a test area) so I have been following this closely for the last couple of weeks.After all the heat they have been getting from this they decided to drop the cap tier tests while they "educate" consumers about the benefit of paying 3X your current price for what you get now unlimited Data DL .LOL They must really think people are idiots.

Long story short in less than 24 hours after that statement they decided to recant and go back to metered testing.If you read all the statements over the last couple weeks by the executives you will see that they are incompetent as well as liars and greedy.

I hate to make your thread angry but I feel that you should know about this and be able to follow the trail of breadcrumbs this company is leading to nationwide metering.You can decide for yourself after reading all the memos and changes in position as well as the spin these Bernie Madoff Wannabees
have put out in recent weeks.

Ask yourself would you want to do business with a company run like this regardless what product you are getting?

I have herd about that, But I guess it will only effect new customers? I just called FiOS , I was gonna give it a shot. Turns out I am in the FiOS area, But 50FT short? So I have to wait a little while before I can order it. .... even tho the other side of the street can get it, lol.

When I called TW support a couple weeks back when all this was going down(I have a 2 year contract until JAN. 11 )the tech support could not guarantee it wouldnt apply to me ,they dont know yet,they have no clue which is another reason for me to be pissed (which happens to probably 90% of tech support question though)

The point that I was making that competition is needed to keep prices somewhat fair ,if you read the links that I gave you would see all the FUD they have given that is too lengthy for me to post on here.

Myself ,I will cancel the service and go to AT&t DSL which is slower I know but at least the caps they are rumored to be talking about are more reasonable,But we will see I guess.

I have called ,signed a petition as well as emailed TW on the subject which I am sure didnt make it passed the delete key.If they do this here they will do it everywhere untill they either go bankrupt from people leaving or inspire other carriers to do the same thing which would be a absolutely horrible trend and would kill off a lot of gaming as well as video DL'ing.

Nope.....even though its dated april 17 8:14 PT ,it is the statement from April 16 ,they just got the info a day late ,This one :

April 17 11:26 am eastern is the current up to date statement..Yep thats right less than 24 hours they 180 degreed on it !! They actually changed their stance before some of the news agencies reported on the earlier statement. MOE ,LARRY AND CURLY live after all and they work for TW

What the heck is wrong with twc, they already charge high enough rates.. and now we are in a recession and thye decide to raise rates and charge overages.... If they cap my area ill go back to dsl even though i hate it...

Totally agree. If they start caping, Even though i herd they wont do it to current customers, But if they do.... Ill get ATT or Verizon, verizon offers 5mb DSL now.... Wont be that bad.
