USBs not working

when i type something in, it lags, then types the letter multiple times in a row. then when i finally get to the website it has an error message on it. It shows on the bottom right corner in the task bar that it's working (the internet symbol with the globe), but it doesn't work.

What are the specs of your PC? Motherboard? CPU? RAM? Apparently, Vista 64bit does NOT support your hardware, or just lacks the proper drivers.

Have you tried un-installing iTunes and Safari? You may want to try restarting in safe mode again, too.

Also, now that you have your computer up again, it wouldn't hurt to grab Malwarebytes and giving that a scan. Download drive on another computer or burn it to a CD. Come to think of it... Do you have other USB peripherals that work fine?

For now only the PS2 mouse is working properly. Otherwise, my keyboard gets glitchy. When I type in so things, usually multiple letters pop in and it's really annoying. Could I just need a restart or do I need to install newer drivers?

Also, I will uninstall Safari after I do a restart.

This sounds like a driver conflict. Would it inconvenience you terribly to re-install the OS? Or, just install a fresh OS to a spare drive?

What kind of recovery disc? If it is an automated partition restorer from a backup, that will most likely overwrite what is on your computer.
