I hear ya, i bought the x800GTO about a month ago and i cant play CoD2 at highest settings without the FPS dropping less than 20.
 
you guys should try to play on my laptop........then you guys would know what i am experiencing.(i am SOOOO sick of Quake III Arena:P) since i have never seen or played a game on a super fast computer, i cant realize what you are going through, but that is just how the world is. keeping your computer up to date would mean spending a crap load of money almost every month.

True, im planning on waiting several months and getting an X2 and the X1800XT.

I doubt youll buy the x1800xt...youll probably want to get a directx10 compatable card.
 
Just wait for the game to come out...It wont e anything like the screenshots...Just like all games when its this far in advance...

Those screenshots were real time though...so i guess you could expect the quality shown in the screenshots.

depends on how soon it comes out, but the x1800xt looks very appealing :)
 
it will be WELL worth your wait to get Nvidia's G80 card, the game should be coming out in Q2, and i'm not real sure about the G80 cards.

I made that post before the x1900 series was out, they'll probably have the G90 before i buy a enw card, lol

Looks like SkiDude went with a x2 3800+ and a 1900xt 512 insted :) good choice.
