Okay well at least YOU don't have it... Anyways, for your friends, first I'd check with them and let them know that they have a virus. Tell them to update their virus software, and then run it, and see if any of them find anything out from there.

*EDIT* I re-read your post...are you saying that they already ran their virus software and it didn't help?

yeah there are 3 ppl i know of who have it.

one has norton, the other has kaspersky and the other one has CA or something. dunno what that is. but yeah. none of them have detected anything

Whoever gets it is the own fault in my mind... But anyway Run Spyware :D. Anti Virus probly doesnt pick it up.

Yer all those types of scans, And have your friends found the virus? usualy when you try to delete it it will say " You do not have permision to delete this file "

Run Spyware :D
Antispyware :D

If your friends have this particular infection, there is a tool to remove it. Pass on the following:

Please download MsnCleaner.zip, but don't use it yet.
  • Please reboot into Safe Mode (tap F8 just before Windows starts to load and select Safe Mode from the list).
  • Double-click MsnCleaner.zip
  • Double-click MsnCleaner.exe to run it.
  • Click the Analyze button.
  • A report will be created once after you finish scanning.
  • If it finds an infection, click the Delete button.
  • Now, please reboot back to normal mode.

I'd also suggest having them post a HijackThis log here.

These sort of problems are often removed by Antispyware programs, an antivirus program alone is not sufficient protection. Some other tips to help prevent infections:

It is important to keep Windows up to date. Either enable Automatic Updates under Start -> Control Panel -> Automatic Updates or get into the habit of checking Windows Update regularly. They usually have security updates every month. You can set Windows to notify you of Updates so that you can choose, but only do this if you believe you are able to understand which ones are needed. This is a crucial security measuer.

As a minimum, you need at least an antivirus, firewall and some type of anti-spyware program.

Some good free firewalls are ZoneAlarm, Kerio, or Outpost
A tutorial on understanding and using firewalls may be found here.

Some good Antispyware programs are listed below. They are either free or have free versions of commercial programs:

Spybot-Search & Destroy
A tutorial on using Spybot to remove spyware from your computer may be found here. Please also remember to enable Spybot's
Immunize and TeaTimer features if you don't have the resident part of another anti-spyware program running.

SpywareBlaster
A tutorial on using SpywareBlaster to prevent malware from ever installing on your computer may be found here.

SpywareGuard
A tutorial on using SpywareGuard for real-time protection against spyware and hijackers may be found here.

If you use Internet Explorer, it is a good idea to use IE-Spyad which provides protections against malicious websites.

ill send that msnchecker file to ppl and see how that goes.

havent scanned with spybot in a while.

its about time i think

kaspersky hasnt detected a virus for me in months.

i dont think its working well :D

i was just scanning with spybot and it came up with

Microsoft.WindowsSecurityCentre.Firewall.Override

and

Microsoft.WindowsSecurityCentre.Antuvirus.Override

im pretty sure they are just there cos i changed the settings in the security centre.

so i should leave those alone right? so it wont change back the settings

tell your friend that they have been effected by virus, dont ever click on the picture, ask them to do a scan, oh yet, update the anti virus first, then scan

Damn I suggest Adaware!!! Or manually take that bastard down, we all know where is it placed... It's in Temp Files but then it spreads to system32, and then registry...Adaware helped to my friend

You are correct, those are just there because you changed the settings in the Security Centre. With those set like that, your computer won't tell you if your antivirus or firewall are non-existant, deactivated or out of date. If you fix them in Spybot, it will change the settings to alert you.

ok,i think i know how to stop it running for the time just go on to task manager and click on bqslboiw.exe and end it i have the virus and my cousin showed me how to turn it off so u mgiht be able to stop it watever u do dont go into windows and delete it because it might be a windows application!
