Temp confusion

Heya, shown below is an image from when i had PC Wizard 2006 and SpeedFan running at the same time to try and work out what my temperatures where actually assigned to....

as you can see, i have managed to confirm that CPU = 48, MOBO = 32 and the 2 hard drives are at 31 and 33 respectivley. Now take a look at speedfan. What the hell is at 54*c. The only thing left is my graphics card, is there any tool for a GeForce FX5200 that can tell em the temp of it... cos 54 is high, real high....

120, thats a bit high isnt it. and no, there is no option in the nVidia display properties bit, ive been through those a thousand times, waht category should it be under....??

Well the max mine can be is 128, but if it hits anywhere near 80 ill start to worry. Right click desktop > nVidia Display > Whatever comes up. hen it should be under "temperature settings"

doesn look like ive got that option.... should it be on the left hand side there..?? I know my driver isnt the latest, but its not exactly a new feature to see temps is it??

My guess would be that the 5200 doesnt have a temp diode then, because it should be on the left hand side above screen resolutions
 
On Speedfan my temp is 71c, says that it is PSU, if it is your psu thats 51c its fine, also if its the gpu, thats also fine:) , could also either be your northbridge or mosfet.
 
i cant see it being my PSU, it doesnt have any wires out ot it that arent power ones, so there would be nothing to tell t the temp... i suppose it is the gpu, but if as marco says the 5200 dosnt havea temp diode, then what the hell is at 54*c...

My psu has no cables comming out of it other than power cables, could still be the PSU, Also what PSU do you have?
I have acrappy Jeantech and below the Mainboard Temperature it also has another sensor called the Power/Aux Temperature which tells me is 71c, which is the same as the hot reading in Speedfan.

But if Pc Wizard has no listed Power Sensor you may be right about your PSU having no sensor.

my PSU is real crappy... made by Magna...??? i doubt its the PSU, but it could be... im trying to think of other stuff that has a temp sens in it.... if its not CPU/MOBO/GPU/HDD then all there is left is case ambient, and thats def not 54*c, lol.... i dont think i have a temp sensor for case ambient.... anything else, apart from fans, some fans have a temp thingy, but what fan would be sensing 54*c... PC Wizard 2006 doesnt detect this 54*c reading anywhere at all, only in SpeedFan, i would say its a bug, just like the reading i disabled, it was constantly at -55*c (yeh, tahts MINUS 55*c) lol, but the 54*c one cant jsut be a dud reading because it fluctuates, some days when its a bit colder it will only be around 50-51, ive seen it get to 60 before, and i dnt know what it is. I thoguht it would have been GPU, but if i stretch my crappy 5200 to its limit in UT2004 for 2 hours solid, the temp seems not to change at all, if anything it gets a bit lower... the only other stuff in my case is a PCI sound card and my wireless net card, there arent any temps on them, lol.
