my god.... im utterly speechless, wow, thats amazing. How the hell does anyone need that many wires, lol.... wow, and soo neat too, my god, its actually like every wire is by itself and doesnt cross a single other wire, its crazy, my god.... where id that pic from.....

I was at a government site last week and the entire computer room is raised about 2 feet off of the ground. I took a look underneath... holy crap I wish I could have taken a picture of it! The wires were pretty organized but just thousands and thousands and thousands of them... it was pretty cool looking!

Hopefully... but who knows?? .. when I was there, one section lost power and it took about 30 minutes to get it fixed! They had two UPS's and one was not being used while the other had about 5 servers, 2 monitors and a pair tree plugged into it...
 
you really would want to personally stamp on that rat wouldnt you, imagine how many solid days work that was.... wow

for the love of all that is holy...that's the most ridiculous display of wire organization i've EVER seen. thank god i don't have that many wires to deal with...

I'm sure that's why it's raised off the ground;)

So... is that all Ethernet wire? Damn that is a lot! What happens when someone's connection fails? Do they actually go into the whole wire bundle and find it? (doubtful) or do they just add another wire?
 
When I first saw that I thought "How did you get a picture of my basement"

Seriusly, that looks a hell of a lot like my old motels basement (If we still owned a the place I would get you a pic...and if I had known you then I probibly woulda given ya a discount if you choose to stay...what you would be doing in oklahoma I dont know). The small wires go to phones although im not quite sure what the bigger ones go to.
 
Lol. Your family owned a motel? That's pretty cool! How many phones were in the motel??

I've checked out my dad's server rooms and they have a lot of wires, but not near as much as this one!
 
Yes, we owned the TownHouse Motel in guthrie oklahoma. It had 30 phones but had capability for 100 (all computer operated, it was pritty sweet to tinker with). But it just wasnt the life my parents wanted so we sold it. Although if the people dont pay up soon, we will be the owners again...
