The PSU that i have is P4 ready only, and i am going to use a AMD processo, do i need an adapter, im new to this! Thanks!

No, although if it's an older PSU it may only have a 20 pin connector, in which case you would be wise to upgarde it (although you can get 20-24 pin adaptors, or just plug the 20 pins into the 24 pin connector).

With the newer AMD 64bit cpus you will find that a supply with an additional
four wire plug for the 12v feed will also be needed. That supplies more current
for the newer power requirements seen. If that isn't provided with the current
supply the upgrade will be necessary.

The ATX12V? That's been standard on both Athlon and P4s for quite some time now.
