PSU help

ok, so im cataloging for my computer im building and my brother wants me to build him a new PC as well.

he wants a fairly different system but yeah, i can handle that

My brother wants to use CrossFire™ and im gonna use SLI (eventually) so. i know i need a PSU for SLI coz the other card needs to be powered from the Power Supply.

im not sure about CrossFire™. Does a CrossFire™ system need the same sort of PSU or does it need a normal ATX power supply?
 
Just make sure you get a good ATX 2.0 or more !, The graphics cards you get come with adapters for the PSU anyway. But for SLi or crossfire you will need at least a 500w PSU.

Both Crossfire and SLI will work with a modern, standard power supply. Two PCI-E connections are preferable (one for each graphics card), but is not necessary as the video cards will come with adaptors anyway. It must have high amperage on the +12V rails to power both cards.

What's your budget for the PSU, and what cards will be used?
 
budget is open really, but we would both prefer to keep it low...

im not exactly sure what i will be using, i may end up changing over to Radeon and use the crossfire system, due to, well me being a Radeon fanboy, i was given the GPU im using now for the record ^_^

the graphics cards that will be used is a X1900 (for My Bro) he will be getting another one soon enough for the record

and as for me, i just want to upgrade my graphics card at some point, chances are i'll get a X1900 X 2 as well maybe by the time it takes me to get the second one, i may get a later edition :P
