had fun with my computer for my girlfriend Michelle, most of the major work is done, just some more things to be done.... 1 and a half hours of work tonight with some power tools and a tig welder turned this:

its going to be completly sanded down, to the steel, everything is getting wire brushed to get an industrial look to it, specs are:

i dont get what those wierd stand thigns are for... i think it would help if you actually told us what the purpose of this mod was.... and why your doing it and what you hope to achieve...

seems like u spent alot of time on stands... when u could of just put a book under it... heh (thats what im doing to mine)
 
with the hdds not being horizontal, they're gonna fail. i learned that the hard way.
nice case tho. i have the same, it used to house a k6-2.

well, there's only one harddrive in there that i care about cause its an 80GB drive, but thanks for the heads up, ill make new mounts for them

On my laptop (with no fancy hard drive protection stuff) the hard drive is quite often vertical and/or horizontal while running, I move it all around (just don't drop it) and I have never had a problem. It has not failed in over a year that I have had it.....
