Problem printing

I have an HP Envy 5530. It's worked great for me since 2014. I don't use it all that much.

I'm trying to print a Word document, but I get a message saying "Printer is in an Error State" and when I click on that, it brings me to the Print Queue. In the Print Queue, it shows an old attempted print job from two weeks ago that shows an "Out of Paper Error." Since then, I have loaded more paper and went through the printers alignment process after loading the new paper. I've also tried unplugging the printer and plugging it back in and also unplugging it from the computers USB and back in.

When I try to print new jobs, they get put behind this old job from 2 weeks ago. I can cancel all new print jobs in the queue, but it won't allow me to cancel this one from two weeks ago. I can pause it and it says "paused" but that has no effect. It temporarily goes away when I push "restart" but then it comes back up the next time I try to print or the queue is opened.

Follow this procedure to manually clear out the print queue.

1. Press Windows key + R, type services.msc and press Enter.
2. Scroll down to the Print Spooler service and right-click on it and select Stop. In order to do this, you need to be logged in as Administrator.
3. Next you need to go to the following directory: C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\PRINTERS. Delete all the files in this folder. This will clear all print queues.
4. Now you can go back to the Services console and right-click and select Start for the Print Spooler service.

You now should be able to print again.

Thanks. Before I read this, I restarted the computer and that worked.

Although now I have a different issue that it prints blurry. Not sure what that's about.

Your ink is probably drying out if you don't print very often or printhead is clogged. Run it through a few cleaning cycles and see what happens.
