Phenom II x4 955 BE Overclocking Questions

Have you checked your ram timings and voltage..???

can you post a link to your ram.. so I can get the specs...

edit**

It would be best to get your machine stable before OC'ing....

Yes I am going to make for sure it is stable before OC'ing. For the ram I cant find a really really good sorce of info for links but this is what I found
Product Name \ Product code \ Delivery A-DATA 2GB (2GBx1) OC DDR3 DIMM 1600G 128x8 9 - Retail+G-HS

No I havent gotten the timings yet I have been bouncing back and forth in between packing so we can move, I will try to get the timings soon we are finish up cleaning here :)

C2 and C3 are cpu steppings. It's what the CPU is, C3 means it was a later revision than C2 and has improvements.

Ah I C. I plan on buying a New Phenom BE when I have money and they come out, but this will suffice for me right now I think :)

Most C2's will have trouble running 1600mhz ram on their memory controllers. You can try it, but you may end up having to run 1333 cas 8 which is still plenty fast.

Sp I may be just not looking in the right spot but the only thing I can find about the ram in the BIOS is
Memory type: DDR3 SDRAM
Max Bandwidth: DDR3-1333 (667MHz) (So it did clock it down to 1333)
Manufacture: A-Data
Part #: DDR3 1600G
Serial Number:00000000
SDRAM Cycle Time:1.500ns(1CLK)
DRAM TCL: 13.125ns(9CLK)
DRAM TRCD: 13.125ns(9CLK)
DRAM TRP: 13.125ns(9CLK)
DRAM TRAS: 36.000ns(24CLK)
DRAM TRC: 49.125ns(33CLK)
DRAM TRFC: 110.000ns(74CLK)
DRAM TWR 15.000ns(10CLK)
DRAM TWTR: 7.500ns(5CLK)
DRAM TRRD: 6.000ns(4CLK)
DRAM TRTP: 7.500ns(5CLK)

I am getting the O.S. up and running now and I will get CPUZ when I get it running :)

Ok I am little confused, well quite confused. I have been sitting here for quite a while trying to install windows 7 and always got an error message while expanding windows files, Jumped on google did a little reasearch about it and found out that the computer sometimes doesnt like a crap load of ram in the slots. So I took one out and now it is going good. Any thoughts about this or expierence, or is this a tall tale sign that the CPU with it's C2 stepping is definately NOT liking my ram and by under Clocking it, it is also under "Volting" it I guess you could say. I am going to get some screenies of CPUZ when it is done and see if we can get this problem solved so I can start my gaming and maybe a 1st time run at OC'ing.

Here it is with just 2Gb of ram

So yeah it doesn not like the 4GB of ram <.<
I am going to play some games for a while because I have been dying to x.x Be Back soon :)

Working Voltage: 1.65V~1.85V... this should be on the sticker on the RAM

What is the ram voltage in the bios.... ??

Right now it is at 1.504v I tried to change it but it is set to auto and grayed out so that I cant :( on the stick it is 1.55v-1.75v. Sad part is the specs of it I gave you carry the same part number as what is on the ram

You probably will have to change the AUTO to MANUAL then the voltage should highlight so you can change it.... get the RAM set to 1.65v (+.150).... make sure you are changing the ram voltage!!

Forgot to mention to change the auto to manual you can highlight the auto on ram voltage you to want change then use the + and - keys on the numpad.. sometimes you might have to press enter when highlighted then the up down keys or + and - (change voltage).... then save & exit... F10 or whatever your board uses... as they vary..

Ok So I set it at 1.630v, it was either that or my other option was 1.599v I tried other buttons and it either put it WAY to high or it did nothing :(, So is it ok to run the other stick now? If so should I run it in single channel or dual channel?

this must be your ram ..http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211409

run it in dual channel mode...

get memtest86 burn it to a cd or flash drive then boot to it and run the diagnostic on your ram... think you need to select the 3rd option (3) to test...

SUCCESS :D..... So I ran the tes and a brutal 1 hour and 50 minutes later everything passed with 0 errors ^.^ Thank you very much for your help with that Jasonn20 :) I am going to go to sleep now and work on OC'ing it maybe later today :)
