Overclocking Jargon

It's all in the BIOS. With a gigabyte board you have to press CTRL+F1 on the main page to get the 'advanced' settings. Slower timings = slower ram, lower timings are faster. ie. 5-5-5-12 is slower than 4-4-4-12

Will lowering the timings consume more heat , and does it have the potential to damage your RAM?

There are 4 digits on the timings, does the last one always have to be 12?

Lowering the timing means the RAM is working faster so it will make more heat, how much exactly I don't know, probably very little.

I left the CMD rate off the timings.

*E6400 + 2 GB 800Mhz RAM +7600 GT?
