just tryin to get some opinions haha...
kind of broad, you might like more than one... just whichever one you like most :)

Macs rock:P. But hey, thanks for making a new thread, and not continueing to hijack that other guys thread.

Macs are the most stable OS. I like them the best, except gaming sucks.

yea i do a lot of gaming.
does anyone know if its possible to put a MAC operating system on a PC? i might try it out if its possible... i've tried linux before, i just figured you couldnt put MAC on a pc... but hey you never know.
i still don't like the computers they sell.. lol

I have to vote for Windows. I've grown up with them, and have never considered a Mac to be a worthwhile switchover for the effort it'd take to learn it. I would say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But Windows often breaks, it's just I'm too lazy at the moment.

I used Macs as part of my Music A-Level Composition (A-Level's being the English equivilent to Junior and Senior year of high school). I hated it. :D

i go down to my local mac reseller all the time and just use the macs, just because i want one soooo bad lol. i love how stable they are, and the way they look, and the included software, everything. im just too freakin poor.

i use windows cause there is so many programs that are made for this o/s!!! and it's also compatible for most gamers!!! correct me if i'm wrong!!!

Windows is the best, I've tried Macs, still wondering why anyone uses them. I have tried Linux, well Linux is alright for servers I suppose, it's just stupid for desktop PC's. It has some nice features, but who would use it over Windows?

lol my friend uses gentoo (a version of linux) over windows. he's really weird though. I think that i might just explore Linux for a bit... with the help of my odd friend. hes REALLY odd. he's had a dual processor computer with dual athlon MP's for quite some time now. i mean, he's been running an extra computer as a router.... for the fun of it. lol w/e!!
but yea, i think i want to try linux out, even a 64-bit version! :)

I wouldnt say macs are stable, i've used a ton of them at school and the tend to crash and freeze up quite often.

Im also a gamer, so thats why i like Windows.

Generally the x86 versions are farther along in development as 64 bit cpu's can run both most of the time, like for ubuntu.

I find it easier to work on a mac, but I do alot of design work and it seems easier to jump back and forth between folders and programs. I love both OS for different things.

I heard the dell might be trying to get apple to let them install their OS on computers and sell them, but I'm not sure how true this rumor is. I always wondered if they would also have XP on them if the whole deal goes through.

Anyone know a good version of Linux for an older computer? I have a P2, which I would like to install it on ...

I have a PC, and it sucks, I used to have a G4 (but my dad took it for his work) its 800Mhz and amazingly runs faster than my 2.66GHz P4, they look really good, not like the way PCs look - either like a open car-engine, or like a hi-tec, sci-fi, from-a-different-planet, PC (Alienware). I love Mac OS.

windows for now and then its mac am over windows! too much trouble for me, i'd like a simple system for a simple person like me! fact! hahaha :D

im gonna vote for windows. behind all the virusses etc, runs fast on good machines, supports many drivers and games, and my personal favorite is the aero theme from vista. ive never really tried linux yet but can sumeone tell me how it is? like screenshots?

Used Windows since I was a kid, never had problems with viruses or "security" problems. I have had problems with stability in general, but nothing serious enough to make me want to try something new. That being said it still doesn't get my vote.

Never owned or really tried a Mac. For a home user who runs Windows mainly I see no point. There's nothing the Mac or Mac OS can do that my PC or the Windows OS can't do for me. Albeit it may do it *better* on a microscopic scale, but I've grown with Windows and don't think any gain with a Mac would be worth the extra cash.
Hearing everyone talk about how stable and secure the Mac OS is, is almost laughable. I love how alot of home users do NOTHING to secure their Mac computers because they think the OS is bullet-proof and nothing can hurt them. Talk to any experienced Mac user, you need security on ANY platform or you are at risk. This was just in response to the sackriders...

I'm going to give my Vote to Linux. Because it's free, because it works, and because it's versatile. Gaming has really just become possible for alot of Linux distros (with a little effort), and the compatibility has exploded. Granted you have to find the "version" that fits you best, but when you do it's amazing. Alot of people are just too loazy to give it a try, and don't mind throwing money at M$ or Apple. I for one like free alternatives AS LONG as they work. Ubuntu works for me.
