Not sure where this goes?

TryingToProve

New Member
Okay I know for a fact that someone (2 people who I know) are hacking into my computer. They have sent me 2 viruses and keep hacking into my yahoo messenger as well. I called a Lawyer Friday. He should call me back next week. I need someone to please tell me how I can look on my computer myself in the meantime and prove they are hacking me. I am okay with computers, so if you tell me what I need to do to prove this. I went to the event viewer, but I do not know what I am reading. I just really need some help and evidence now so I can sue them. Please. Thank you so much in advance everyone. I really appreciate it.

Okay. I have got signed off before because someone signed in my name from a different location. Him and his gf printed off conversations that I have said with my friend he got from our instant messengers. I always click NO DO NOT SAVE MESSAGES, you know in the preferences area. He changes it all the freakin time to put yes save them.

He also has sent me 2 viruses to my computer. It will mess my windows up. I have to take it to the computer repair man to fix it for me. He did it this last time for free since it was the same issue.

No one knew my computer messed up and he said, "yeah I heard your computer was messed up, did you want to give it to me or sell it to me". No one knew.

So I KNOW he is doing it, I just need evidence and proof. Can you please help me. I will really appreciate it. I had to shut my computer off last night and unplug it.

He is doing it from his computer at his house.

Are you behind a router? As far as helping you get proof, i can't. I'm just trying to help you stop him from accessing your computer. You should be able to install a separate firewall like zonealarm to stop someone from accessing your computer from some other location.

type netstat -a in your command prompt and it will show all users that are entering your comp. Then you can tell when they are and arnt hacking you also so you can shutdown before they start messing with you.

I go to run and type in cmd.exe then netstat -a

How can I tell what is me and what isnt?

They are hacking into my yahoo, myspace and my whole computer. I could care less about myspace, but I work from home and he keeps sending viruses to my computer which shuts down windows.

If you're running Vista, make sure your security settings are turned off, because I don't think the black box will stay up when activated through run on Vista.

I also wanted to say that before I got the second virus, I noticed a message that would pop up when I would shut down my computer saying are you sure you want to shut down when other clients are connected or something like that. What could that be?

It doesnt show anyone now. Im pretty sure he read my yahoo mesenger of me thinking it was him. Is there way for me to show past activity of him doing it?

I'm not sure how how far you are trying to take this legally, or if this "hacker" is tampering with anything besides your myspace/yahoo etc. I will soon be a certified forensic examiner, and will be graduating with a degree in computer forensics, if there is one piece of advice that I can give you it is to stop digging around on the computer.

If you are really trying to pursue legal action all of the digital evidence is going to be tainted with digital "fingerprints" from you clicking around on the computer. If this hacker is doing more than just messing with your myspace profile you need to take the computer to someone who is certified to work on it forensically.

As for securing it so that he cannot access it I would recommend a few different options for you.
-first, unplug your computer from the network and run spyware and virus scans.
- change all of your passwords. yahoo, myspace, email if you can, and also your wireless if thats how you connect to the internet.
- If you are using wireless make sure it is encrypted and turn off your SSID.
- If you have sensitive information on your computer I would keep your computer off of the network period until you figure all of this out. He might have a keylogger embedded in your system, and if he is an experienced "hacker" he might be watching your every keystroke.

Just remember, if you really have something to pursue legally, trying to solve this on your own is going to ruin evidence. just by opening files and logs you are changing time stamps and other evidence that is critical to proving who did what and when they did it.

He has sent viruses to my whole computer and messed it up. He is messing with everything.

You responding with little messages like this makes me and many wonder if this is just a seek of attention on a forum. TO say idk where this goes is right there a red flag when theres a section for computer security. http://www.computerforum.com/computer-security/

Hacking in yahoo messenger and myspace or any other site for that matter isnt going to put any one in legal trouble since this happens daily to anyone who opens stuff they shoudlnt.

Try learning to scan programs and or emails before you open them and maybe you wont get viruses.

I'm sorry, but this isn't a very good description of your problem. If you really need help with something you need to give us more information. does this guy have physical access to your computer? (you really have to know what you are doing to pull off some of the things you are half way talking about without physical access). you also need to let us know how the computer is behaving, and post pictures of your task manager or something. You aren't giving us much to work with here.

Also I really hope you aren't trolling, because I am taking time out of my own day to help you.

I do not have time to troll. I have a full time job, which I work from home on this computer, and a newborn daughter. I was holding my daughter and typing with one hand when I typed that one sentence by the way.

Okay 2 weeks ago I was online my computer froze. I turned my computer back on it had an R. It said windows needs to be repaired, enter you CD and it may fix it. I took it to the computer store. He fixed it. Charged me 125 bux. I got it back. The guy got super p*ssed at me. He is psycho, so is his gf who is my SIL. After a big blowout..the next morning I got up at work at 5:30 am. The SAME exact problem showed. It showed an R and windows need to be repaired. It happened on a Thursday BOTH times! Anyways a few days prior to that, I would try and log my computer off and it would say something, I dont remember what, it said something along the lines of are you sure you want to disconnect, clients or networks or something like that, are connected or something. I thought that was odd.

The computer guy fixed it for free again since this was the same exact thing that happened last time. He put virus scans, everything all on my computer the first time and doubled it this last time.

I could give 2 craps if they hack my myspace. It is just yahoo is my work stuff and my computer is my work stuff. I type up medical documents. I changed my passwords and its still happening.

I just want to prove he is hacking into my computer system and that he sent me 2 viruses. Its a privacy issue since I type up medical documents that contain patient names, ssn's of people, diagnoses, etc.

As you can see, I am typing more because my daughter is asleep and I am up late lol. The lack a sleep parents get with newborns!

I am sorry if you all have trollers, but I assure you I am not one.

I hope this is a lot of info for yall. I am not sure what you want me to take a picture of. The last time I saw an attempted hack was this morning on my yahoo where he changed it to save my conversations. That is the last time.

So, any help will be greatly appreciated & I thank everyone who has replied and who intends on replying.

Again, I have already changed email addresses on myspace and passwords on both yahoo and myspace. Again, the myspace I could care less. It is just the yahoo stuff I get angry about and my system.

Thanks again.

Wipe the hard drive completely clean with a bleach program and reinstall windows then he will no longer be able to get into your computer. Also set up a router within the house to each computer and never go back to him.

Also you can have the ISP reassign you a new IP once you re do the windows isntallation.
