I have been doing some research on different sites about "NWEReboot" which is in my start up when I look via PC Doctor but Not via MSconfig startup.

Some say it is part of NERO and do not remove, Some say it is a virus and to removed it from the registry, one say it is A US government spy.

Does anyone know for sure if I should deactivate it from my start up. and remove it.

It certaintly seems to have a lot of people thinking.

Do you have nero? If so, than that's possibly it. I believe it runs during the process of installation or autorun from the cd. You should be fine unchecking it. Unless, you do NOT have nero?

After a google search of 'NWERebott Process' I got:

nwereboot - nwereboot - Process Information
Process File: nwereboot or nwereboot
Process Name: Ahead Nero CD/DVD Temporary file

Description:
dummy.exe [nwereboot] is a process belonging to Ahead Nero and acts as a temporary file whilst CD writing is in process. This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks, I do have Nero and I saw the bit about the dummy file, but then I saw this site below

They just basically rephrased it into something that will scare you and thus, make you download their so-call AWARD WINNING True Sword program.

It basically is just telling you that it can be found in two forms. NWEREBOOT or DUMMY.exe and it adds itself to your startup list.

So in conclusion, if you DO have nero as you said; if it isn't causing errors here and there, just leave it. No reason to remove it.
