Nikon D700

I actually saw it in a photography magazine I bought a week ago. It looks so good but it's way too expansive for me :P

It looks amazing though :D

Yeah, I had heard about it before, but I never really read about it because I knew I couldn't get it. Someday I'll get the top of the line though! :D

Wow! Looks great! :)

How's the D40 Punk? Recommend it for D-SLR beginners?

I currently have the Fuji Finepix S700, (I wish it had a D instead of an S! :P) it's an excellent camera for the price but I'd like to jump into the D-SLR field...

The D40 is one of the best beginner D-SLR if not THE best.

I'm not saying this because I own the camera, but I made this conclusion by reading D40 reviews online and on photography magazines.

Going into the D-SLR field involves lots of time learning how to set up your camera for EACH pictures you'll take. Of course the D40 allows to go slowly to full manual mode. You have the P, A, S and M mode:

P: Program Mode, lets you change any settings but the camera takes care of the aperture and shutter speed.
A: Aperture mode, takes care of the shutter speed depending on the settings you chose
S: Shutter speed mode, takes care of the aperture depending on the settings you chose.
M: Fully manual mode, once you master each settings, it lets you take awesome pictures.

The Nikon D60 is also a good beginners DSLR... if almost like the Nikon D40x but with some more added on features and a higher Megapixel rate than the D40/D40x. (10.2).

Lots of on camera editing features.

The modes Punk put up for his are also on mine.
It also has a sensor cleaner that activates upon turning on and off the camera.

All loads of things.

I want one so bad... They're expensive though, even the D40.
The D40 is the cheapest D-SLR and the best for this price range :).

The dust cleaner is awesome!

It is more expansive though :D. It is a really good camera indeed! If I had the money, I would of bought it instead of the D40 :)

now im just waiting for Nikon to make a lower budget full frame sensor for my VR 24-120 lens! :) the D700 is a little out of my budget lol
