NFS Carbon Demo out!

I just finished the drift mode. I got 135k this time around. I probably would of done much better, but the drifting engine sucks! Man I was sliding towards the left wall going pretty fast. I tapped it to the right to whip the rear around. For some reason, after I tapped right, the car flings back to the left into the wall!
 
Sounds like it's a good thing that they are taking a year off of making NFS games. They need the break :P. Still I look forward to the tittle. Hoping that with the time off they are taking they might come up with some real good original ideas.
 
Yeah...I still say this game's quite a let down after "Most Wanted"... Though I also think the system in that game could use a good bit of tweaking as well. I mean come on... How can using nitro in a turn cause a car to flip :P
 
I actually love everythiing about this game. I don't know how different it is on PC versus PS2, but everything worked out great for me on the PS2. The new drift driving style was what I liked the best. Looking forward to this release next month.

Same here. Ordered a steering wheel last night, so ill get some practice with it on Most Wanted.
 
I think this demo is totally cheap. Just hear me out.
1. The lighting is totally unrealistic
2. I get twice the framerates on this maxxed out that I get with MW
3. It is way to easy (at least the demo)
4. YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE CONTROLS!!!

I am wondering about the graphics, cause on MW I got 27 or so FPS with everything maxed, now I am getting 38-48!? I hope that it just is a less graphically demanding demo and they will up the graphics for the real game.
Even though I see this as subpar compared to MW, I still will buy it...when it is $20 or so.

Yes you can. once you start a race press escape, then there is a whole menu for controls.
And i think this iss a great demo, fair enoguh ti is easy, but i like it that way, although it froze once i was about to start the canyon duel :mad: which is annoying, but it will definately be something i will be getting

I see you mentioning how many more FPS and I don't understand how that is bothering you? Are you graphics good? If not then this is what you need to say, not that your getting high FPS. Remember some of us have not played it yet so we need to hear the input and high FPS is a good thing :P... Unless it means that the graphics are bad. I've seen videos and screenshots and they look great so I'm thinking that your high FPS is a good thing, It means a better graphics engine ;).

well... it could basicly mean, the programmed the grafic's a lot better/compacter.. so i dont see the problems either :D
 
Well, I guess my main gripe is that it looks unrealistic, and neony like. Cheap, I guess you could say. Not saying it has bad graphics, though.
 
I have played NFS carbon demo yesterday, and I loved the game a lot, because it is very similar to NFS underground.

I was able to play it at 1024x768 on medium setting on my geforce 6600 video card, I tryed also to play it at high setting, but it was running too slow.
 
Well the games out today in America. I have to wait til friday to play it though. But it gives me time to get used to my steering wheel.
