Nexus 6 - too big?

I was looking forward to the a new nexus smartphone release.
The Nexus 5 does not have very good reception, and the speaker is not very good. Motorola do a really good job with the Antenna from what I have read about the Moto X 2014 which I am sure carries forward to the Moto 6.
Also nice to see them build a more premium device.
But it looks way too big for me, I won't be getting one. Also, still haven't found any information confirming whether or not it has a notification LED.

I am disappointed to see it is going to be this big. I hope they release something smaller soon. The nexus 4 was the perfect size for me. THe screen use large enough to actually use, but it still fits well in the pocket.

I have the Note 3 and I love it. 5.7" screen and its just the right size, any bigger and I think it would be too big for me. I know the Galaxy Mega at 6.3" is definitely way too big. I might be able to get by with a 6" screen as I like the bigger screen for when I websurf on it. The bigger screen makes it so much easier to view unlike my old 4.7" HTC Evo LTE. I can't upgrade until next September so I'm not sure what I would get at this point. By then I'm sure the Note 5 will be close to coming out or something better. I would have to play with the phone a few times before making a decision.

But getting back to the Nexus... What do you use your phone for the most? Web surfing or using it just as a phone? If web surfing then you will most likely enjoy the bigger screen. Another thing to point out is where do you keep it on yourself? Pocket or holster? I've always had a belt clip holster for all my phones, so that might influence your decision too.

Either way, I wouldn't get it right when it comes out as you don't know what type of issues it may have if any. I had 2 phones in a row from HTC and both had issues so I gave up and moved to Samsung and have had no problems.

I think I would like a phone that doesn't have any bloatware software installed such as the Nexus and you get software updates almost as soon as they come out, no waiting for your carrier to actually test the update.

I wish they updated the Nexus 5 as well. I'm waiting for the Droid Turbo, a 5.2" flagship with the best phone specs available.

I would like to see a new nexus 5. I don't like bloatware or huge screens. If they don't release one I will end up getting the iphone 6s when it inevitably releases.

The Nexus 6 costs the same as other flagships as well, so you can't use price as a reason to get it over other phones. The Moto X and Droid Turbo (Verizon), also have low amounts of bloatware compared to others, and I believe the unlocked version doesn't have any bloatware.

I will have to look into those. The LG G3 has enough to annoy me. It already seems buggy which I figured would take longer than a couple months. Vanilla android without the bloat just seems to hold up longer.

There are lots of things that vanilla Android is missing though.

First, the whole UI is dark and depressing. The camera experience and quality is much worse, with poor looking photos (think S5 vs S5 GPE), no custom add-ons like multi-window, knock-on, etc. It's nice for it's simplicity, but there's a lot you miss coming from TouchWiz or LG's UI.

I have a nexus 7 tablet, and I absolutely love the ui. Its improved a lot with the android l dev preview , and I love the clean and modern look. Personnaly, I think samsungs phones have a ton of crap on them, and I had to root my dads old s3 to stock android to deal with it. But thats me, as im a google fanboy.

I would agree with you on all of that. The interface may be dark but it use clean. I like simple more and more.that's why I hate to say I like ios. Vanilla android would be my go to if Verizon gets a phone with a smaller form factor.

I have the LG G PRO and its 5.5 inch screen. Internet surfing and apps for the big screen it amazing but not practical for large-screen phone use. In particular big problem moving the pants pocket

I use my phone about 95% for email, hangouts, web surfing, youtube with chrome cast, I very rarely use it for phone calls.
I do like the note 4, screen is excellent, removable battery, micro sd card, led notification, excellent camera, the price you pay is touchwiz, and having to wait for updates.

That specs on that look nice, especially the battery, but we will never get that in Australia.

As much as I like the LG G3, having played with a few of them in the shop, I have noticed them lock up on a few occasions. A pure android device without the bloatware does rock.
