But I beg you, stop doing that, stop using pirated software. Think like you was the programmer that spent maybe years of hard working to make it work, he maybe spent a lot of money, and he would like to see that his worked payed off. Pirating his program will make him feel sorry for wasting so much time and money, and he may never bring new improved versions, patches or updates.
Not really, hes still getting paid for being at work, its the company that loses out, they make enough money as it is. Look at AutoCad and other software that schools and company's use. They already make enough off them, trust me I work for a school district. If I find a game or program that's worth it, ill buy it. However for something old or overpriced ill download it. Not to mention I used to play on consoles too, I felt I didn't need to buy Bioshock for my PC if I already paid for it. BTW if you don't own that game(Bioshock), don't pirate it, its a great game and worth the price.
It's very hard to tell you how hard is for me to choose a career for the future. I want to become a programmer, and I'm now in the high school, 3 years away from the university, and these are my last 3 years when I can choose what I want to become. It's very sad to think that I may create very good software, spend a lot of time and money to do it, and I try to sell it to earn my living, and then find it everywhere on the internet for free. If I realize that I'm just wasting my time and money trying to make something useful for people, and all I get is a big hole in my budget, I'm sure I will be very disappointed and I will quit creating software.
That's the life of a programmer, don't be one then. BTW You don't have to make your mind up in High school. Iv got a friend that decided he wanted my make alot of money, so he went for construction management, he then realized he was into computer and networking, well there goes that money. Take a year off or something. Just to put it out there, no matter what you do, there will be some open source software close to what you make. It takes teams and teams of programmers to create large software and games.
This is also available for music, movies... there is a lot of effort in making a single CD with music, trust me.
Making music is supposed to be fun....not a job. If you don't make music to make music and you do it for money, you don't deserve my money.
If you feel like you simply can't stop using pirated software, try changing your operating system to Linux (any distro you want) where most software is free, even open source.
Theres open source for windows, and plenty of it....
I know that most of you are teenagers, so it's your time to do something against piracy.
I beg you, please stop using pirated software.
It wont end, its not just kids, its people like me who love sticking it to the man.
If you don't, you may be sorry later when the programmers will stop creating software, when singers will stop recording CDs because of pirated music, movie makers will stop making movies and so on.
Its not going to end, why your posting this is beyond me. Why the hell would someone pay 60 bux for something when they can get it free? People aren't going to stop making music or programming, some people enjoy it, and do it for fun. Not to mention those singers, and movie makers, there making tons of money at the box office and doing tours.
Its BS, don't run sunshine up peoples behinds. Those people are making plenty of money. They don't need more. So what it hurts CD sales, they still make tons of money on merchandise and tour's.Boo-Hoo im only making 1million instead of 20 million a year(not even accurate, im sure they aren't losing that much.) Not to mention its the record company's man. I hate company's that do almost nothing and get paid for it. IE. Banks, Record company's, ect ect.
