is it dangerous
i mean what is gonna happen when i play a game or something
i tried everything i can to low the temp
i got a new thermal paste
i got SPEEDFAN but i dont know why i cant control the speed of my CPU FAN (Stock intel fan)
somebody say something :D
thanks

That's a tad warm for a P4, but it's not dangerous. When your playing a game the temp could raise anywhere from a few degrees to 20 degrees depending on the game. If you want to lower the temp then try getting a new HSF like a Zalman CNPS9500 or Thermaltake Big Typhoon.

is there anyway to increase the speed of my fan ?
and not speedfan
because it doesn't increase anything
my fan runs at 2700 average
isn't that a little low ?

I think 2700 is a little above average RPM for an 80mm fan(I think that is what's on the stock Intel HSF). If you can't increase the speed with Speedfan then the fan may be at its max. The only other way I can think of trying to increase the RPM would involve some rewiring and other crap. If you're really concerned about the temps then buy a new HSF. A new one like the CNPS9500 will be much better than the stock HSF because it's made out of copper and not aluminum(copper conducts heat better than aluminum but is heavier and more expensive).

Another way to keep everything cooler is to clean the dust out of your computer. The dust will decrease the effectiveness of the fans which will prevent cool air from getting to all the components.

i appreciate your kindness
so i have another question for you
this is not it's maximum
sometimes randomly it gets over 3500 RPM
and for the record
i got a P3 fan to 5000+ RPM after rewiring it
so is there any software to increase the RPM of my fan ?
thanks

It may go up to 3500 RPM because it's trying to cool down the CPU when it becomes hotter, and it's also possible that Speedfan just doesn't work with the HSF. When does it go up the 3500 RPM? Randomly or after playing a game(or something else that requires heavy CPU usage)? You might be able to control the fan speed by going into your BIOS and changing some settings but I'm not entirely sure.

I don't know of any other programs that can increase the fan speed. You can try googling or asking some other members here if they know of one.

The stock Intel P4 fan is thermal controlled. I've got a Willamette Celeron P4 at my school past 55C, no problems. It's in a 25C ambient, running Folding@Home.
