I have an extremely irritating problem that I give up trying to solve alone. Within the last week my mouse (Logitech G400) will randomly freeze for 2 - 5 seconds. It occurs frequently but not to the point where I can't use it. Anyways I discovered the culprit, an HID compliant driver keeps installing itself over the new driver. Every time the cursor freezes I can see a little symbol in the "devices and printers" window next to the mouse. After the freeze I get the classic windows "be-doop" sound like something just installed. The date of the driver is doesn't match the one in the "device manager" list, instead it matches the HID compliant mouse. Whenever I uninstall this old driver it displays the newer up to date one but reverts by itself eventually. I tried to uninstall all this HID compliant crap from both locations mentioned in quotes above but it comes back. I also downloaded a new driver to update it and see if that would help, but nope. So then I did this :
1) Unplugged mouse to prevent any default drivers from installing.
2) Uninstalled and deleted driver software from "device manager".
3) Uninstalled the mouse from "devices and printers".
4) Rebooted.
5) Installed new driver again using my KB to navigate.
6) Rebooted for software to show up.
7) Plugged in mouse again and got it working.
But much to my dismay, the problem was still there. Please help I can't browse or play video games without interruption.
