Motherboard brands...?

I am about to buy a new computer and know very little about motherboards. On many websites the common brands (for AM2+) are Asus, Gigabyte, ASRock, Abit and MSI.

Are there any that are better, or worse. I plan to get a Phenom CPU so it needs to be AM2+. I am looking to spend £75 at most really (as part of a circa £500 system, no monitor etc) and would like to get the best brand/performance/value (obviously!

Having support for 1066mhz RAM would be a bonus. Can you suggest any reliable stores as well (UK).

Thanks, Doug.

I don't know about any good stores in the UK, but the best motherboard brands would be Asus and Gigabyte. Stay away from Foxconn, Asrock, Biostar, and MSI; they are very unreliable in comparison to Asus and Gigabyte. DFI is also a very good brand, but they're usually a touch more expensive.

Abit, ASUS, Gigabye, DFI
Also, if you ever get an Intel CPU, Intel makes some decent motherboards for their CPUs.

Foxconn is decent if you are on a small budget but generally not fully recommended.

MSI has decent boards, some have very good ratings on newegg, some of them don't.

Thanks everyone for your advice. Asus and Gigabyte seem to be pretty common and reasonably priced so I am going to go for one of theirs....
