More ram.

I want to get some more ram. I have pc2700 and was wondering if all pc2700 is the same? Can I just go to best buy and get a stick of pc2700 or are there different kinds!

well u have to see if its ddr,ddr2,or any other type of ram. it can also be 184pin or 240pin.

Heya, you most probably have PC2700 DIMM RAM. If it's a notebook, then PC2700 SODIMM RAM. The speed at which PC2700 RAM operates is 400Mhz. Then, PC2700 RAM differs in terms of latencies and things like that. However, as a general rule, you will be fine with any other PC2700 RAM stick as they then work at the latencies that the sticks can support. Also check whether or not your current ram is in a dual channel configuration and so on prior to purchasing the extra RAM.

umm yea... pc2700 CL2 will be twice as fast as pc2700 CL4.
personally id get pc3200 CL2...
btw if you get it from bestbuy or circuit city it will be overpriced.. i guarantee it.
just get something reliable shipped from newegg
