hey one last question kornowski, should i use a hole saw on aluminum , u said u used it on ur two spare drives which i guess were hard plastic ??? or should i use what taylor msj did ??
You can use a hole saw - but you have to make sure / buy a hole saw peice that can cut aliminium. Or get a jigsaw blade that can cut aliminium
Shouldnt be to hard to get hold of a 76mm hole saw that cuts metal ie. aliminium
Yeah, Make sure you have a hole saw that can cut through metal, you don't want to get half way through and have the blades melt down, it's hard to start again once you've stopped.
You can allways test it on something other than your case and see if it works?
Also, when doing your case, take your hardware out to stop any small metal shreds falling in, this could short or damage your hardware... Also, tape around the hole so that it's neat and doesn't scratch any of the paint.
, i tried taking off the top panel of my computer case , but no good , so i guess i have to take out all my computer hardware oo well , but ya this weekend im going to get the fan and grille so ill get some pics, wish me luck and thanks again for ur help
Yeh i was lucky that my case is made quite well i could take the top of my case off - otherwise i probably wouldnt have made the hole if i had to take everything out - one more thing make sure the width of the fan will fit. As my PSU is a modular i cant have any cables on the top row as the fan is in the way
I assume you don't have the packaging?
Test it.
When buying a new hole saw blade, make sure that it is a bi-metal hole saw which will allow you to cut metal.
