The cpu is at 66C when gaming
the case feels hot on the top, the power supply is 450 watt and is also pretty hot. The computer sits in a cubbyhole so that dosent help.
What can i get to cool things off a bit?

heres some info on my system when i'm surfing and not gaming

ummm.. i can fink of a few things like:
a) buy a bigger case taht can have a 120mm fan front and back
b)get another fan 80mm fan and put it on top of ur other fan on the back it shud fit i fink
c)open ur case and put a fan nxt to it =D (p.s i use to do it)

First, take it out of that cubbyhole because the PC needs to be in an open area so it can take in cool air and have a place to release hot air. Your GPU temp sounds normal to me, but your CPU and HDD seem too high. For the CPU you can buy a new HSF like a thermaltake big typhoon or a Zalman CNPS9500. You can buy an inexpensive HDD cooler to keep its temps down. How many fans does your case have and which are intake/exhaust? And what kind of CPU and HDD do you have? You also need to make sure that the computer is cleaned from dust at least every month, and wire management is a big deal too. Messy wires can disrupt airflow.

buy some cable wrap, and some zipties/mounts then arrange the wires in the crevices of the case for optimal airflow. Gr8 option too is cut the side of your case to accomadate 2 fans and put wire grills on it. Cuts temps but 10 degrees.
Better cpu heatsink?------>thermalright xp-90c

wow mines hitting 68 for Temp1, dam mines hot, 68 thats without any games too. Jeez... lol. How could i cool this off? O_O. Cheapest possible plz lol.

Edit: went to 82 and then Shut down instantly.

Dang! I feel scared when my CPU hits 42C. If you have an older "beige" case type, just take off the sides or cover. I did this on an old PII system, it ran almost 15C cooler. Make sure you (or your PC) are in a well venilated place- not a cubby.

82C? thats not good. stuff might start melting. get a nice cooler like arctic freezer 7

pete: what kind of cpu do you have? do you have the stock hsf on it? what kind of thermal pad/paste do you have on it? did you put it on yourself?

if you put on thermal paste yourself, if you put on too much, too little, or the wrong way, that could dramatically affect cpu temps. if you are using the stock thermal pad, that could also affect cpu temps.

get your computer out of the cubby, and see how your temps change.

i think i got the same casing as u .. any my temp is almost the same as u .. jsut that my GPU is aroun65*C it will hit even 80++*c when gaming .. i need help too .. its is possible to add some fans below those CD drvies ?

arctic silver 5
zalman cnps9500led
and coolermaster 100cfm fans front side top and back.

thats what i have.
