How much did you spend on it?

How good is it?

How much do you think you saved compared to buying the same computer in-store?

ecs mobo-$50
9800gt vid card-$30
thermaltake armor case-$35
hp dvd burner-$10
500gb hdd-$60
4gb gskill 1066 ddr2 ram-$45
thermaltake 500wat modular power supply-$30
Phenom II 940-$170

total-$430

this is really good for me. in a store that would cost a LOT more

~$450 plus whatever my CDRW, DVDRW,floppy drive, case cost me way back like 6 years ago. all 4 together probably $70 new now. so I'll say $550 I guess.

$400 originally. Since I have put around $100 into it, maybe more. I saved quite a bit than if I had shopped in the store.

these are my estimates:

Case: $130
CPU: $100
HDD: $30
Mobo: FREE (curtosy of ScOuT)
PSU: $100
DVD drive: $40
GPU: $250 (overpriced :()
CPU Cooler: $50

So about $700.

But if you add the two other GPU's (3870 for $80, 4850 for $120) another HDD that disliked my mobo ($30) and about $30 in fans it comes to about $960 in total.

$300 or $400
well before i built this pc. i had a dell d600 laptop with a 1.66ghz cpu and upgradeing to a dualcore 3.0ghz is fast!!!

$15 in total....for the speakers.

Yes, it's a Dell, but the motherboard, case, and PSU are the only original parts.

I hate to think about it.

Just the computer, $2100. Add monitors, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and printer, $2850.

Good? I think it is freakin' awesome. Fastest computer I've ever used.

A Dell Studio XPS 9000 spec'd close to the same would be cheaper, but I wouldn't know the brands of the components, and I'd have to deal with all the software Dell loads up. And the most important part, I got to build it myself.

Hmm... I've never really added it all up.

Speakers - $50
LCD - $149
Heatsink - $54
RAM - $109
HD 1 - $69
HD 2 - $64 (reused from previous build)
CPU - $279
Mobo - $189
GPU - $109
PSU - $50
Case - $49
DVD - $35
Mouse - $37 (purchased using a best buy gift card :P)
Keyboard - $10
----
So I'm looking at around $1253... Wow, that's more than I was thinking. And the printer was $49 if you want to add that too :P

Well I got a lot of my stuff for free so it seems cheap

Case: $45
CPU: Free($75 new)
Mobo: $90
RAM: $65
PSU: $50
GPU: $100
HDD 1: Free ($40 new)
HDD 2: $45
CPU cooler: $10(after MIR)
Fans: $17
ODD: Free ($25 new)
Card reader: $11
Sound damping kit: $15
Lights: $15
Keyboard/Mouse: $12(got it on sale)
Speakers: $15(got them from a friend)
TV/Monitor: $700

Total is $1180 excluding the stuff I didn't pay for with it would be $1278

Not counting the other $90 I spent on my first CPU. $50 for first case. $50 on various fans. $40 on other RAM. $30 for old PSU. $150 on first monitor. Seems like I put so much money into it but I have no idea where it went.
