My friend and I, and maybe like 2 other people want to have a private server for Ventrilo but we can't figure out how to set one up. Can anyone tell me how to do so?

Thanks a lot

Edit the Text file that comes with the server, set your names, max users, ect ect
Run the server.exe
Find the IP of the server
Send the IP to people who want to connect, ba-da boom done. To connect to yourself 127.0.0.1 If you are running it on another computer on your network it will be 192.x.x.x or something like that. Its most likely a class C.

Download the server client from the ventrillo site. Unless you pay, its limited to something like 8 slots.
You may have to forward some ports. Poke around to find out if/which ones are needed.

Are you having issues or just didnt know where to begin?

Lol I just didn't know where to begin. My friend and I tried to set one up but we didn't download the server client, I didn't know there was one until now >.<. Does it hog up many system resources though?

Ehh, i couldnt tell you but I'd doubt it (since the limit is like 8 people).
If you have a seperate computer to run it on, thatd obviously be best but i dont think itll cause too much of an issue.

No, it takes almost nothing. A p2 could run it just fine. Hes right your limited to 8 slots on the free version.
