How do I clear cache?

Well, whenever I have a problem with something being slow or something not loading, people often tell me to "try clearing your cache," without telling me which type of cache I'm supposed to clear, so there must be some general form of cache that people mean when they don't specify what kind.

I was told to clear cache to solve a problem of not being able to log onto a webpage (on Opera, not IE). That's why I'm asking.

Go too the File menu
-Preferences
-History and cache.
-Click the Two "Clear Buttons"
-Click the "Empty Now" Button

Thats for Opera.

What about Firefox? I switched to that since I posted this thread and it worked, but that may not be permanent. I want to know how to empty the cache so I can try it if I ever find myself incapable of loading this page.

KK Here is for Firefox

-Tools
-Firstly Click "Clear Private Data"
-Then, Tools
-Options
-Advanced Tab
-Then "Networks" (SubTab)
-Then Click the button "Clear Now"

BTW, Thats assuming you have the Latest Version of FireFox

Its Version 2.0.0.5 (latest)

Too find yours, Click

-Help
-About Mozilla Firefox

I do have the 2.0.0.5 version, but the method I came across wasn't the same as your's. I went tools > Clear Private Data > uncheck everything but cache > click "Clear Private Data Now."

So I'm assuming that does the same thing, eh?

Oi, the manual way.:) Pick up CCleaner (free, what Kof suggested) and it will clear your cache, empty your recycling bin, delete any temp files not needed, clear firewall logs and a ton more.

It's like owning a vacuum cleaner for your computer.
