Help! Need a budget tablet!

Where are you located? I still have my old ASUS TF-101 I don't use anymore. It's several years old and originally came with Android 3.0 which I upgraded to 4.0 and not too long ago upgraded to a 5.0 build.

I sent you a message with my location, How much do you think i would pay for that asus TF 101?

Responded to your PM.

If you're interested in my TF101 I can clean it up and flash a fresh, rooted install of Android on it for ya. It has a screen protector on it and a nice case. Also comes with charger and USB cable.

$50 via paypal and it's yours. They seem to still sell for around that price.

okay, Thanks! i sent you a reply to ur PM

Okay, im not good with tablets and stuff, so can you tell my what android stock is?
I'm sorry, when you said you wanted to develop apps I assumed you knew what stock Android is. Since you don't, I think you may want to leave "developing" apps to actual developers.

and, i have to have android, like with play store and every thing, not kindle.
The Kindle does run Android... If you want the Play Store, root it and install it.

why not buy a android tablet with android pre loaded(Not Kindle.)

well, im a beginner, and i want to learn the basics with this android, did you know, that if you plug it in t ur computer, on linux, and open terminal and open the android as root, than you can make .apk files in there, and make/change/learn apps!
Because an Android tablet with the Play Store costs a lot more. Amazon subsidizes the cost because they include their apps, which you can remove via rooting.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

okay! thx, but the nexus, well it kinda pricey for me, and i just need something really cheap.
Then get the Kindle and root it. We are really running in circles here. You say you want to play with Android, what better way to read up on a developer forum on how to root and install the Play Store on an excellent $50 tablet?

If you wish to develop apps then you don't even need a tablet. The Android SDK & associated tools have an emulator that you run on your development machine to develop your app. You need access to as many tablets as possible in order to test your app on them in order to support as many tablets as possible.
