I am looking for new headphones to buy 150 or less(for use on my pc), i want them to be wounderful for music as well as incorperate the fancy new sound card features that go into new games.

wounderfull surround sound and directional sound/sound staging (not multispeaker/ 5.1 plz)

awsome bass (subwoofer is very important.)

I do not use a microphone

I prefer closed headphones but open are ok to.

I have the new X-Fi Xtreme Gamer card from soundblaster:

they will be used for gaming, listening to music (metal, pop, rock, and many more, again bass very important)

Wait... let me get this straight.

You want a pair of 'surround sound' headphones with a sub-woofer built in? Headphones? Right?

I use Sony noise cancellation headphones...awesome:D Great sound in all ranges from low to high. I would recommend these to anybody...you'll like them:) The model I bought are the MDR-NC50.

I have seen many people getting the Skullcandy headphones. http://www.skullcandy.com/

noise cancellation is only worth it if you actually need it as it takes stuff away from the sound quality.

I have sennheisers and they are quality.

I'm still stuck on what this guy is saying, since when do headphones come with sub-woofers?

On a side note, kaishlothon, you live ridiculously close to me...

I personally use SkullCandy headphones they have been exellent for me brillaint sound quality and bass aswell!

Well my friend had a pair of skull candy headphones with a built in sub, but I'm not sure what model they were.

On a side note, jesus how much did that Alienware in your sig cost?

lol, too much, $5000, just got it last week :)

Dont get bose by any means, they are way too overpriced and the sound quality isnt that great(referring to desktop speakers here, no idea on the headphones), go with a nice set of skullcandy or sennheiser headphones.

I have these headphones and i love them :)
As for desktop speakers i can't say, but we have an wave system and thats awesome!

There's no such thing as far as i know of having a subwoofer built into headphones- Obvious to me the OP just means headphones that will deliver plenty of good bass. Personally i would recommend the Pioneer HDJ 1000. They've come down in price a bit recently and if you look around the web for a good deal you could probably get hold of some on the top end of your budget. I use them for everything- studio use, music and gaming. They'll definitely give you plenty of bass and a well rounded sound.

I agree with whoever above said the bose headphones suck, for the pricetag on them they are subpar at best. Their wave systems are second to none, but hats really their niche is speakers and not good quality headphones. I vote sennheisers all the way!

Im not a fan of bose products personally, I prefer proper Hi-Fi stuff and recon that bose try to get loads-a-bass and clean treble without caring much about the middle. I like natural sounding kit.

But yea, get some nice sennheisers and you won't be dissapointed.

Yeah, according to the experts at headfi, bose and skullcandy are both companies that focus primarily on design and marketing rather than sound quality. So you end up getting sound quality comparable to a much cheaper set made by a company like sennheiser, denon, shure, etc. That being said, Bose are probably the most comfortable earphones around.
