halo and quake 4 are alike.

oh really. How so? They all having fighting boss and and healing exprience.

That is not nearly enough to make them the same. Also like you said in Halo you recharge slowly and Quake 4 your team mate heals you... How are these the same? Also You can heal yourself by picking up health in Quake 4 which you do more often then get healed by your team mate I think. I barely played Halo but I've played it just enough that I'm confident in saying that they are both very different.

Unreal and QUake are exactly the same! multiplayer wise, at least.

Exactly no but similar. This assumes that your talking about Unreal Tournament (any version)... Unreal and Unreal Tournament are different games. As a matter of fact Quake 4 is exactly the same as Quake 3 ;). Just updated graphics and of course I'm talking about the Multi side of things. Quake 3 was all multi.

True, I was dissapointed with the lack of improvement, even the lack of new maps.

i disagree... i think quake 4 is a 50/50 combination of q2 and q3... the environments in multiplayer are very much that of quake 2. also, i believe unreal road the coattails of the quake series (came out after quake was released), so i would guess the similarities came from unreal trying to win over the fans of quake..

did you also know that quake4 doesn't need a cd to play it? Which means the cds are perfcondition by now. :D

Doom 3

I believe Quake 4 is just like Doom 3. The shadowing seems the same.. The whole engine kinda looks the same. Same with every room is extremly dark..It doesn't look like Halo at all (to me). Quake 4 is alot better than Doom 3 BUT, Quake 4 in my opinion looks alot better.

Yea and? what are you disagreeing too? :P. I agree with what you said here. If you noticed I did not mention Quake 2. This is because Quake 4 is identical to Quake 3 online. The single player side makes it like quake 2. It does take off where the story of Quake 2 leaves off.

Quake 2 had a totally different feel online then quake 3. You better play both again if you don't see that ;). Quake 2 online took place in what I would call environments ripped right out of the single player game. These environments where sometimes big and complex. Quake 3 however took place in what we call "arena's" They where fairly open and rather small. Now Quake 3 copied the Unreal Tournament feel in order to win back the fans. It where first Quake, Quake 2 then Unreal came along to compete. They came out with Unreal Tournament shortly after which took place in arena style levels. Quake 3 came after Unreal Tournament with the same online only style game play and arena style maps.

In conclussion... Quake 4's online style is very much different then Quake 2. I agree however that it is 50/50 because of the story style offline play of Quake 2 and the online Arena style of Quake 3.

Edit:

the environments in multiplayer are very much that of quake 2.

Oh yea I do disagree with you ;). Quake 4 is Quake 3 online with updated graphics. Quake 3 is Arena style levels which was on online only game (offline was simply online practice no story). Quake 2 was your classic story driven game with an online side. They took levels from the online game which where sometimes large and complex. You could literally get lost at times in Quake 2's levels. Quake 3's as I've said where fairly small and somewhat open. This also can be said for Quake 4.

i didnt want to have that large blob of text in the quote... i guess it [quake 4] is more like quake 3, but i meant the textures, sounds, and the movement is very much quake 2 in multiplayer q4. you can run-jump like in quake 2 (jumping while moving forward to gain crazy speed) and there are places to do multi-jumps up a stack of boxes and what not. it is more like q3 with the level layout and the weapon choices... but i hated quake 3 and loved quake 2, and instantly loved quake 4 when i played it online because it reminded me so much of quake 2.

Again Quake 3 :). You run and strafe jump to gain speed. It's been the same for Quake 2,3,4 and prob. 1.

Again here it makes little sense to me because if there is anything like Quake 2 then it would be only the following.
to do multi-jumps up a stack of boxes and what not

Anyhow it is just observation more than opinion.

i could never run-jump in quake 3 (???)

I'm confused.. Why not? this technique has been used since Quake 2... Like I said prob. Quake 1. You run and jump strafe and get about double to triple your speed. I played Quake 3 online for about 4 years and used the technique right away as I learned it in Quake 2. Allow me to quickly look it up for you.

Edit:

Yes Quake 4 is awsome unlike halo ;). LOL

wow i never noticed an advantage run jumping in quake 3... of course that's coming from quake 2, which allowed for almost infinite acceleration

That really surprises me if you played the game at any lenght... did you? Just asking because you said you did not like it :). Anyhow yea it is the same technique that I used in Quake 2 and I got about the exact same outcome as for speed. Anyhow yea when you are in game (Quake 3) everyone is running and jumping :). Of course this is done as it makes one a little harder to hit but the main reason would be for speed boost.

You know about the rocket jump right? :D.

Edit:

If your interested. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/quake4/media.html?sid=6136066&mode=exclusive&autoplay=6136066 watch the "Quake 4 Video Review" See what he has to say about the multi. The word "duplicate" was used and Quake 3 followed :). Heck a few of the maps where an exact copy of Quake 3 levels.

yea i cant really explain why i didnt like it... other than it was just not as fun coming from quake 2..
but seriously i remember playing quake 3 (which i own btw, ive played it plenty just never "got into it") and being peeved that i couldnt run jump.. also, if you were caught run-jumping in quake 2 you were dead as the pattern is so easy to follow and pick off the skipper :D

i had an alias for rocket jumping in quake 2 as matter o facto :) and i had a technique for pill+rocket jump hehe.

That was also available in Quake 3 :P. You could bind rocket jump to a single key. You can however pick out someone who is using it and generally they mock you off the server for not having rocket jump skill. I did not share this attitude.

I hated it! coming from Quake 2 I was first wanting where Quake 2's story lead off and second because the multi was diff. I cursed ID Software but as I already blindly bought it I played it and withing a few hours got to liking it... withing a few days got to loving it :).

Basicly all the moves in Quake 2 are there in Quake 3. I do find it odd that you where a veteran player and could not manage the "run jump" technique in Quake 3 as I picked it up right away. You should instal and give er another go on the run jump :).

Edit:

Oh and Halo is still not like Quake 4 :).
